Jesus. Riley moss come back and pick up ILB
i’m praying that having Riley Moss back is going to really help. Not just w/ coverage but tackling also as he’s shown to be a very good tackler
yet other team’s defense seems to be just fine with all that tape on them
Not sure this is the answer you want from the DC, but I’m no coach – at least he’s being honest lol?
On one hand, this seems like a very reasonable and accurate point to make. On the other, it’s also his job to account for that.
I will give him a bit of slack and say that our “warts” are probably exacerbated by our cap constraints. It’s frustrating to see these gaps emerge but coming into this season we had very few true stars outside of PS2, so you’d have to say VJ has overachieved considering the personnel.
VJ, it’s called man. Stop the soft ass zone and let the CBs play coverage.
Paxton Lynch could pick apart the zone we’ve been running the last 4 weeks
All I know is we need to beat the Bengals in week 16, 17, 15, 16, 17, 18.
This has always been one of his biggest weaknesses. Man can devise some pretty nice schemes but he always struggles adjusting when other teams adjust or personnel availability changes. One of the biggest things he needs to fix if he’s ever going to be an effective head coach.
Is VJ a man coverage merchant? Our D was amazing when PS2 were both on the field. But with one or both of them out, we were forced to play zone and turned into Swiss cheese.
Like losing an All Pro and/or (arguable) Pro Bowl CB is obviously less than ideal, but it shouldn’t drop your defense from top 5 to bottom 5. It makes no sense that missing *only* Riley Moss for the last 3 weeks would’ve regressed the defense that much. How tf did it get that much worse with Surtain still playing?
If VJ needs amazing CB play to make a defense look as good as it did, then how good of a DC is he really?
Cutting Wallace was a good start. Get Moss back and stop this stupid zone bs. ILB is definitely a need though.
All my coaches for all my sports teams are idiotic right now. Every single game is painful to watch. Horrible.
I mean.. he needs to adapt more quickly then. He’s basically saying “teams adapted to our defense and exposed it, but we haven’t made the counter-adjustment yet” ok then when Vance?
