  1. Astros will find a way to win with the guys that have been there before in big games. The pitchers will be back strong and they will be fine. I mean you’ve been wrong before about teams being on decline or predicting a bad season for them. 🤷🏽‍♂️

  2. Dodgers fan here and I won't forget about 2017, but you saying "it MIGHT cost them" means they are doing something right. You questioning your own vid speaks volume. If they can't beat other teams with talent, they'll just find another trash can to hit anyways.

  3. As much as i agree bregman should have came back its probably for the best since he’s not worth whatever money he wants the astros offered him the money he is worth and bregman doesn’t want to sign and for the Astros solved their bregman problem so easily was awesome now we need a outfielder to not run a trash outfield everyday

  4. Hard disagree. Bregman is not worth what he is wanting. He will have to settle for less now and get signed late into the offseason for a lesser contract. Like Correa did with the Twins. Also nobody is talking about Bregman having a BAD RIGHT SHOULDER that was a problem last season. A long term contract for a 30+ year old 3rd baseman with a bad throwing shoulder? No thanks.
Also you missed a big blow that the organization has had to deal with, punishments from 2017 in losing 1st and 2nd round picks for 2 straight drafts. Yes thats right Astros haters, they actually were punished for the 2017 scandal.

  5. Have you actually check the stats by Springer and Correa after they left Houston? Saying Houston miss their production badly just doesn't make sense. This is like you made a video just to make a video.

  6. I said it at the time they should have traded Springer. I'd have traded Correa too, but I can kind of understand keeping him. If he played more games I'd have been mor ein line with signing him. But he misses minimum 50 games per year so not worth the money. Bregman should walk, as he's an ok player who is getting worse. He's not worth whatever he's going to get. Tucker I would have made the exception and kept him. Or at least tried. Though if they weren't going to keep him then trading him is fine. BUT.. The Astros' biggest problem, and it was the case under Luhnow too, is the draft. They have not drafted well since 2012. Luhnow drafted toolsy guys who would make the majors and be depth pieces but never amount to much, outside of first round picks. And no surprise the guys hwo became good players were, Bregman, Springer, Tucker, Correa, top of the draft talent. Where are the under the radar guys hwo were drafted late and became something? Why don't they take talented players later in the draft and pay them enough to keep them from going to or staying in college? Their drafts have been awful for over a decade now and that's why they're in the position they are in.

  7. You’re just plain wrong on this. The bad habit is offering bloated contracts to aging stars. Look at how Springer aged. Watch how Correa continues to miss time, oh and he didn’t even get the $ he wanted. Now watch Bregman sign a contract to play in Canada for an extra 20 million.

In my opinion, it’s the players who are greedy, not the owners who are stingy.

  8. As a mariners fan thinking about becoming a astros fan this year if they will have me I will say this three things in life are certain death takes and the astros winning the al west

  9. I think they are smart then you get stuck with a Swanson type contract like my freaking Cubs 🙁 …. I applaud them for being smart about contacts and reinventing themselves year after year they know how to pivot

  10. You are just upset because they keep winning without having to mortgage their future like probably one of your favorite teams always does. It’s called running your team like a business, you know why? Because newsflash it is a business. And just like business, you use logic first not emotion. If you don’t like it in Houston you should be able to go elsewhere. Nobody is holding Bregman by the hand. He can go and financially cripple some other team with his “has been “performance somewhere else. We will still continue to win. Go stros.

  11. The Astros are trying to fight the reality of this is what the market is for such players. They'll offer what they think is fair, a middle of the road deal, but they will not break the bank on a monster deal. Doesn't matter who you are. The Steelers work this way too.

  12. The only bad habit this team had was being complete garbage at home in the playoffs since 2018. Nationals & Braves & Rangers embarrassing them at home is ridiculous.

  13. still haven't replaced Springer, they paid Lance (he fukin suck) Stros will never win a world series again.. Had the best players any team would want and they let them all go.. SMH.. Tucker will get super glazed now that he is in Chicago.. yes ESPN will glaze anyone from NY n Chi.. Stros will suck again in an even worse way! Dana Brown sucks , Crane sucks..

  14. Your fixation on the cheating scandal is so lame and old…Cheating in BB has been forever. Banging on cans was minor compared to doctoring the ball for spin rate (all pitchers on all teams do it) or steroids. Get over your lame self.
Springer and Correa are now way over paid…so will Bregman and Tucker is not Babe Ruth and will take a huge part of a team's payroll.
While the Astros just keep reloading…8 straight ALCS is the reality in your face! The Astros "DROP THE MIC". Go 'stros

  15. The funny thing about the "cheating scandal" is that every team was doing it, but the Astros have to bear the scar of what the MLB was doing and folks like you like to "remind" everyone how the Astros "cheated" to win the 2017 World Series, but leave out how the bats of the dodgers fell flat during that World Series and how when the totals for all 7 games were done, they couldn't keep up with the Astros EVEN KNOWING WHAT PITCHES WERE COMING! Say what you want about 2017, but baseball fans know that it wasn't just the Astros and the players know it wasn't just the Astros, the only ones who still think it was just the Astros are guys like you and those who think they know the sport. There are Astros baseball fans who are numb to this and know that it was all over the league and just laugh when idiots like to "remind" folks that the Astros "cheated" in 2017 to win a World Series.

  16. Even as a Rangers fan.. I see the Astros still making the playoffs. I do think the Rangers are the favorites to win the division but if the astros win the divison I also wouldn' be surprised.

  17. Let Bregman walk. We have his replacement. If he wanted to sign for that 25 or 26 million a year he would have. He can take his greedy azz and boras elsewhere.

  18. Correa’s departure still stings. Granted, Peña made the transition smooth that first season, but the infield defense has suffered since he left. Peña had been a great defender, and Altuve had been passable with the overshifts in play. However, since the rule changes, the infield has been porous even with Bregman’s great defense.

Walker was a great add but without Bregman, get ready for some extended rallies on base hits.

Up the middle, they don’t have enough range or arm to stop said rallies, and that includes Jake Meyers.

Good luck to them. I hope they know what they’re doing with their hard line stance on spending.

  19. This dudes a clown. “Do you think of Springer and the cheating scandal?” No shit! They’re all cheaters and they’ll always be remembered that way! They’re the new black Sox but way worse. They cheated the game in the worst possible way and NOBODY outside of Houston respects them

  20. You are wrong about why Springer didn't want to stay with the Astros. He was not happy about how long they kept him in the minors when he was ready for the big league and started his service time later keeping him under team control till he was 31

  21. The Astros did most of their winning last year while Tucker was hurt. Bregman is slowing down and not worth the money hes asking for. The Astros did the right thing. We're only having this conversation because they have acquired SO MUCH talent over the last 10 years who were bound to leave eventually.

  22. Springer never wanted to return to Houston and it had a lot more to do with the service time manipulation back in 2014 when they held him in Triple A a month longer than it ever had to do with sign stealing. Nonetheless, his free agency began when he was already 32 years old, and signing a 32 year old outfielder to a long term deal like the Blue Jays gave him would not have made sense for the Astros.

Carlos Correa always wanted the super long term deal ever since Francisco Lindor and Mookie Betts got their deals with the Mets and Dodgers respectively, but he still didn't manage to get it because of the failed physicals with the Giants and Mets. If he didn't have the injury history, he probably would have deserved it, but the fact remains that he signed with Minnesota for a lot more AAV than the initial Astros offer, but for about the same length of time.

Alex Bregman was extended to a team friendly deal back in 2019, but after injuries to his quads and hamstrings over 2020 and 2021, he has lost a lot of the explosiveness he had back in his MVP runner-up season and is largely not the same hitter either, despite still being a really good 3B. Now he'll be entering his age 31 season – with declining peripherals – and still seeking a deal longer than 6 years? He'll be lucky to get anything longer than 3 at this rate; another Scott Boras masterclass.

Point being, I don't believe the Astros not offering more than 6 years for contracts is a bad habit as its being described. Context is important, and the overall theme for most of these guys the Astros have let walk is there is already red flags attached to their free agency that would impede on the Astros' plans to continue to succeed down the road, but the idea that the Astros just let guys walk is also incorrect; obviously Altuve but they signed Bregman when he was younger and healthier, and they extended Yordan under the same principles, not to mention Cristian Javier. Kyle Tucker is in a similar boat to Carlos Correa, but the main reason you didn't trade Correa is because he plays a much more valuable position. You know you probably won't win the bidding war for Tucker, but it's a lot easier to part with an all-star outfielder than with an all-star shortstop. This is also why they won't trade Framber Valdez either, and he's entering his final year of team control too, just like Tucker.

  23. I like how the astros still made it the playoffs and it’s considered the end of the astros dynasty. It shows how good this team is and their expectations. They’ll be fine

  24. Bregman had an average year last year certainly not a superstar season. He stuck out a lot more than he did in a normal year. So in my opinion he needed to go plus he said that Houston wasn’t going to be able to resign him a number of times during the season. I believe Tucker has some good years ahead and he may even have a breakout year ahead. I wish them luck in the coming years.
