Alonso will sign a 1 yr deal for $28mil with the Giants or some other scrub team.
Anything more than 5 yr $130 mil is an overpay.

Martinez had a pathetic 0.5. WAR last season "got him at a bargain".
Why are Mets fans so hung up on Dave Kingman Jr. Alonso strikes out more times than not. And I give him the HR in MIL., but he was awful all year. Let him get his money in Seattle, Sign Bregman to a 2yr deal. and Repeat the Soto process with Vladdy Junior. A better hiting and hungrier 1B who pairs better with Soto than Pete in the Lineup and is YOUNGER!!!
The Met's offer should have a deadline. Take it or leave it. After the deadline, move on.

Pete, if you're reading this, come home. The fans love you and you fit in NY. Yes, you might not get what you want up front… but if you're a lifelong Met there will be tons of opportunities for a guy like you in the organization even post playing career.

Mets should sign Alonso to 5 years for $130 million. It's fair to both sides. I'm just hoping Boras won't jeopardize the negotiations.

Agree,Pete's a Met, but he can't ask us to spend crazy money that he's not worth. 3 years x $90M is what he's worth, not 7 years at $200M+

Pete's MISTAKE was moving to Boras last year. It messed with his head all year. He pressed and it showed. Boras' promised #'s out of his ass. Pete bit. And now? Not going to happen. Either Pete flexes muscle with Boras OR he sits and gets a deal not that much better than what the Mets offered a year ago, and plays in Toronto

If Boras keeps waiting it will back fire on him. This is not the time when he got Prince Fielder that contract. Plus Cohen knows Vladimir Guerrero will be a free agent next winter.
