  1. Crane has Astros best interest at heart, Boras does not. I don’t trust Boras at all. I root for the team. If a player wants to leave for $. So be it. I won’t root for them anymore. It’s just fandom.

  2. Crane created the winningest era in Astros history. He has spent more and accomplished more than any other team owner. It doesn't mean that every decision made worked out, but most did.

  3. 2025 CBT is 241m. Astros are projected at $244m. The Arb figures come in around Jan 9. If Astros add 15m to the projected 244m, that will be an estimated $5.5m tax hit. I think the Astros get close to the 2nd tier 261m at 259m for 2025. They may be waiting for Arb figures and outfield FA prices to come down. Crane can manage $5.5m tax hit in 2025, then reset below in 2026 when Montero, Abreu, Pressly and Framber come off the books.

  4. Never overplay for players. And no long contracts that are guaranteed. This is fundamental and smart. Yes, in the process your best player(s) will be gone. That's part of the game. What has George Springer done? What has Carlos Correa done? Breggy will be an average player with top notch defense. Garrett Cole win a world title? But, I must say, Kyle Tucker might be one player the Astros will regret. Who will replace him? Santander? We shall see.

  5. Agents get paid a percentage of a player's contract. Of course, the agent wants bigger contracts. It's on the teams for paying it. Pujols was way overpaid. Trout is still way overpaid. Soto has a ridiculous contract.

  6. Jim Crane brought 7 ALCS, 4 WS, and 2 WS championships to Houston. Meyers had a low batting average, but he did get 61RBI. Dubon had about 35 RBI. If Meyers and McCormick can hit 15HR and drive in 60+ rbi the Astros will be fine. Neither are superstars, but if they bring average bats, they're defense will make the OF ok.

  7. I think they'll be watching Dezenzo, Whitcomb, and Leon in Spring. Someone has a chance to be the Astros LF. Whitcomb played 20 games at 3B last year. In 19 games he had one error. He had a better first 40 AB's than Tucker or Bregman. I'm not going to judge a player on one game.

  8. Crane has been the best and most succesfull astros owner ever, he ALWAYS stuck to his guns and he was very lucky to always come on on top, Mr. Crane is not a player's feelings , he's a smart business man who brought us lots of winnig years , and the run is not over yet!

  9. Boras is a fool. Tried to get the Astros to handicap their success by overpaying Bregman more than the original overpay offer. I'm starting to think Bregman is going to have to take less money elsewhere.
