I hate his swing and batting stance from his time in seattle, so no
As it stands we have a completely vacant position in the outfield, so sure why not.
Fuck I hope not
Yes I think he should be the top target for our outfield if we don’t want to spend significant money. We need another lefty bat in the lineup plus his savant page claims he is a disciplined hitter which was a priority for Dana.
Didn’t even realize he was a free agent. I think he’d be a good option if he can be had relatively cheap. I’d rather have him on a short contract than pay 20+ for Santander for 4-5 years.
Hes better offensively than any player we have slated to play in the OF currently.
No
Yea but i’m not willing to go into the luxury tax
What’s his left/right splits?
I think we’re through with the big signings this yr so unless a Leon, Melton, etc option is the plan then I don’t think it’d hurt to give him a chance for a cheap, short term deal < 3 yrs. Our serious lack of resources out there is why this post even exists in the first place, so why not?
Who?
He was a toxic personality with the Mariners. And after his stint with the Brewers he said he’ll hate that city forever.
It looks like his defense in RF isn’t even average. LF is even worse. He did put up some good numbers mid to late in the season. A large chunk of that time he wasn’t a regular starter. Not sure if it was a strong side platoon or they needed to keep him fresh because of his history of injury/surgery from a couple of years ago.
Point being, I’m not sure that uncertainty on offense, defensive or in the clubhouse would be worth it.
We’d likely have to get rid of somebody to get Winker and stay under the luxury tax
What’s his baseball savant looking like
Not only but hell no
If he’s basically a platoon bat, I think I’d rather have Jason heyward back. I know he’s a bit aged but he’s got a good personality and is still good in the outfield.
