According to a report from kicker’s Georg Holzner (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Leroy Sané would be willing to take a decent pay cut to stay with Bayern Munich — but still would have to prove himself with a strong second half performance:

Leroy Sané would be willing to waive ‘a lot’ of his current salary in order to get a new contract at FC Bayern, as he feels extremely comfortable in Munich. However, the current tendency remains that Sané’s contract is unlikely to be extended, unless he plays an outstanding second half of the season.

If true, this feels like a lot of posturing from Bayern Munich, but does lay out the possibility of Sané staying. In five years in Bavaria, Sané has 52 goals and 51 assists in 194 games across all competitions, but will need to show better consistency with his production in the second half of the season.

Liverpool FC and FC Barcelona are among the teams rumored to have interest in the Germany international should he become a free agent.
