Keith Hernandez says Juan Soto is not a homerun hitter with too big of a swing, and subsequently witnesses a colossal shot by Soto

  1. Just let it play out, Keith. He’s here now. He’s signed for 15 seasons. When all is said and done, he has a very good shot at being one of the hundred best players in MLB history.

    Welcome him, Keith.

  2. I feel like with Keith he half means this as a compliment. Keith has always been pretty against guys selling out for home runs and he’s basically saying Soto’s swing is very good and he doesn’t do that.

  3. All Keith meant by this was that Soto wasn’t the Joey Gallo all or nothing type hitter who only looks to pull fly balls. Soto uses the whole field, granted he’s so strong that his Oppo hits go out too but Soto isn’t a typical home run hitter like Alonso or Kyle Schwarber, he’s more of a complete hitter like Trout or Judge. That’s what he meant

  4. Keith means this as a compliment hahaha. He’s an old head and doesn’t view pure home run hitters as complete hitters.

  5. The Mets broadcast often talked about how amazing Soto was. This likely was taken out of context. I bet if we watch the entire ab he is saying Soto is a complete hitter, that homeruns are apart of his game but you know him for being good at everything with the bat. When you see Trout/Judge at bat you know those guys can threaten in every way, thats what he means.
