Matt LaFleur says Jaire Alexander is most likely done for the season because of his knee injury. He’s having surgery.

  1. Damn shame but I’ve suspected this would be the case for awhile now. I really wonder if we’ve seen Jaire play his last snap as a Packer.

  2. genuinely a top 5 favorite packer of all time for me. heartbreaking knowing this is probably it.

  3. Dumb question but why didn’t he get surgery when he was first injured months ago?

  4. I love how everyone all of a sudden is just now saying “oh he’s gonna get released we’ll never see him again” now that he’s out for the season without giving any other reason. He’s still young and very fucking good and I think it’s kind of dumb to assume we’ll drop him like Eric Stokes hasn’t been in and out just like him and been significantly worse in that time.

(Albeit this season is the complete opposite which good for him)

  5. We should’ve just put him on IR sooner. Sucks, but we cannot go into the next season with our current CB room. I’m fine with Nixon/Valentine, but we need to draft at least two more corners.

  6. Obviously doesn’t factor into their mindset because they’re professionals/competitors, but it should be a lesson to players that trying to play through injuries will buy you minimal good will from the wider fan base and that self-preservation is probably the smarter move in the long run.

Hope we see him again next year.

  7. Welp whoever he ends up playing for next I expect he’ll never be injured again.

  8. So he tried to play through an injury that ultimately needed surgery. Think about that.

Sucks, hope to see him healthy again.

  9. I guess at least we can stop wondering and move on with the guys we know that can play

  10. My absolute favorite game of his was when he locked down Jefferson all game and griddied on him even though it cost me my FF championship. I don’t think we see him back but at this point we barely saw him in the first place.

  11. He has 19 million in dead cap if he’s released this year, don’t think they’ll cut him to save 7 million when they have 62 million in cap space for 2025

  12. Bought his jersey at Lambeau in May 2022 right after he signed his new contract. He’s been the most disappointing player on our team since that time. Makes me hate the jersey

  13. Unfortunate! Next man up. Our secondary did their job against the Vikings, our pass rush was just nonexistent

  14. He won’t be cut next season. Same situation as Bakh; too much dead cap, just not really worth it. If he’s not up to snuff next season he’s gone. Especially true since we’re short on good CBs and heavy on cap space. It’ll definitely be a position we’re looking to in the draft, but I wouldn’t be altogether surprised if we reach into FA or trades for somebody; CB and Edge are biggest concerns right now by far, which I’m doubtful we’ll attempt to fix purely through the draft. That and maybe a WR if one with hands happens to pop up.
