I was looking at last year’s record, and the Habs are very close to where they were on New Years 2024. I think they had 2 less wins, 1 less loss, and 3 more OT losses. They lost their last 3 of the year while they won them this time. January 2024 was pretty rough, so yeah, this month will show us if the team is moving in the right direction.
If there is ever a timeline that makes or break whether this team can make the playoffs, it’s in front of us in January.
I’m just happy the Habs are playing meaningful hockey in January and still have a chance. They are cooking big time and I’m having so much fun watching everything unfold.
I thought they’d go 5-12 post Christmas, they’re already 3-0. They are on an insane run right now after beating 3 of the top teams. They showed us that they finally can play for 60 minutes.
January is our hardest month this year. If they come out with .500, we could be a playoff team.
When I was looking at the calendar and saw we had Florida, Tampa, Vegas all lined up, I wasn’t very optimistic regarding those games. If we continue to play the way we have been and getting the saves we need to keep us in the games. We can defintiely go .500 or better in this month.
I’m only afraid for the road games in Col, Utah and Dal. Otherwise I think the boys will be okay.
Can’t put too much thought into strength of schedule. We just went 3-1 in our last 4 and only lost to Columbus. Any team in the NHL can win on any given night.
Let us just enjoy. The .5 means nothing. Total wins vs total losses is much better of an indicator and there is a long way to go for that to be even.
The Sens have a relatively easy schedule in the month of January but they do play a ton of games with four back-to-backs. We have a shot here, just have to keep plugging away.
They have 8 games at home, where they’ve played solid most of the season.
They have 6 games on the road, which of late they’ve been playing amazing hockey!
So this could be a great month!
Damn, January is make or break. What an insanely difficult month of teams.
Habs were 9-5 in December and appear to have found their game. I expect they will exit January at .529 at least (7-4-3 for the month, or better) and will be close to evening out their goal differential, if they aren’t already in the +
