Oh he’s fucking pissed.
Earn that fine, baby
I’m in full support of Bednar throwin hands with the ref next time
Seriously though, a strap comes loose on the goalies helmet and it’s an instant whistle. Guy actually gets hurt and is in a worse position, and it’s “get fucked”
Bednar with the F-bomb. I love this coach, and goddamn am I happy we won. I hope Wedgewood is ok.
All time presser. Laughing the whole time.
Y’all people yelling fire Bednar earlier better put some damn respect on this mans name
God I love Bedsy. Spitting facts the whole presser
Lmao “we’ll call the league, well we’ll get a call” fucking legend he didn’t give a fuck he took one away 🤣
I’d donate to pay that fine
I liked that he focused more on the fact that play should be stopped for *every* injury, and it needs to include goalies. The goal itself wasn’t the problem, so much as the refs watching Wedge roll around in pain and not blowing it dead.
He ain’t wrong. 21 was watching Wedgie from the moment he went down, he checked the corner, then stood there watching Wedgie writhing in pain and still called the goal. What a shitty ass call and then they doubled down on their shitty ass call even after given the out when Bednar challenged the call.
IIRC when Kemp went down with the stick in the face the explanation we got from the league was that the puck can only be blown dead due to an injured goalie in the offensive zone if the puck isn’t in a score position. I’m sorry stripes, but unless your Wayne Lemieux MacConnor, you’re not scoring from against the boards behind the line. Blow the damn whistle.
Lol at anybody who has EVER wanted this guy fired.
Just wanna comment again to state that refs across the league have been too hesitant to blow a play dead for an injured player. This is an issue I’ve been seeing in every conference, every rink, just about every time a player goes down. The league needs to put out a memorandum requiring a ref or linesman to detach from regular duties and pay attention to the player when they go down and stay down for (X) amount of seconds.
Does anyone have video of that play I need to show a friend
Legendary interview. Legendary game.
Love Bedsy! Great news conference. 👍
I love every second of this.
That’s our fucking coach! Love this man! Fucking legend.
Mount Rushmore kinda guy
I don’t understand why there was a whistle when Dahlin got hit in the first, but not when Wedgewood was injured. There was no imminent scoring chance, Buffalo didn’t even have the puck. And the ref was looking right at the play and Wedgewood the entire time and it was obvious he wasn’t able to get up.
We all know player safety isn’t actually something the league gives a damn about. That’s why they give repeat offenders laughable suspensions, if they get suspended at all.
Yes! Thank you! Please call the league, I want to call the league. 3 out of the last 5 games I’ve seen at Ball Arena have had awful awful calls by the refs. Tonight was just so upsetting. As a nurse whose job is all about safety, these refs have a duty to prioritize player safety. That ref standing there while a guy is writhing in pain is completely inappropriate. What other job can you do such a bad job at the risk of life or limb to someone and not follow the rule book? Your one job. It made a mockery of the sport and I wanted to leave. As a season ticket holder, I love the Avs, but I don’t want to spend my money on a sport that doesn’t value the players safety or the rules of the game.
That’s our Stanley Cup winning coach!
That presser was an all-timer. PREACH Bedsy.
