  1. lmfaooooo most Habs thing ever to lose to Chicago after beating 3 cup winners in a row. tomorrow with Dobes basically in the bag??

  2. One team was just more desperate than the other. O well, can’t win em all, on to tomorrow. Of note though, Slaf is just not playing well. Like I don’t even mean comparing him to last year’s play. He’s barely playing at an NHL level right now. I think sitting him for a game or two may actually
    help him out.

  3. *BAD*

    – I guess you can call it a trap game but seemed our Habs just couldn’t find their groove at times.

    – No need to infer anything deep from this and his point total has been solid lately but on the night that was very rough from Slafkovsky… to say the least if I’m being honest.

    – I always see memes about Soderblom. Idk I guess he’s usually cheeks? But then he played very well against the Habs. Go figure damn.

    – Nitpicky, thought Gallagher was bit more choppy tonight and had a few turnovers.

    – Dvorak just a pretty gaping hole at 3C. That contract running out Habs instantly upgrade. No offence to the player who seems like everybody is friends with but man.

    – Not Guhle’s finest night either.

    *GOOD*

    – Suzuki was laying the body tonight and had quite a few impact plays. Caufield also with his 20th on the year, and keeps on chugging along.

    – Not the end of the world, Habs still doing well, and at times tonight they had a lot of chances that just did not go. We move.

    – Nothing outstanding but thought Dach kept possession well. Skating good.

    – What a freaking find Heineman was. Great scouting from the front office. He’s only going to get better btw.

  4. We looked decent in the first two periods then very flat in the 3rd. Hopefully we do the typical Habs move of losing to the Hawks and beating the Avs tomorrow.

  5. not blaming the refs at all, but that 5 on 3 to start the game was pretty suspect. other than that felt it was even

got goalied and monty didn’t have a good one today, it happens, sucks it had to happen on this stretch of games

this may very well have been slafkovskys worst game in the nhl. I know hes not making ectension money yet, and I’m not necessarily concerned for his long term outlook (hes showed he can be dominant) but this season he simply hasn’t performed to what we need him to be. some secondary assists really don’t phase me, he has 4 goals and were in January man

  6. Lots of shots, but it sucks when Chicago had way less talent but way more will.

    That was a needed game.

  7. Slaf is playing terrible hockey atm. Doesn’t skate, looks lost, poor decision making, soft. Hope he turns things around

  8. That was a fun 3 days being a 500 team. I was looking forward to all the “we haven’t lost this year!” posts

  9. They played alright but the Hawks worked harder and bounces didn’t go our way. I’m fine with this overall just learn and move on

Dachs confidence is coming back. His hands are silkier and although he didnt get any pts/chances off the moves he pulled, him trying them and pulling them off is a good sign

  10. Overall, it was not a bad game but a few players completely killed us out there and we got Goalied

  11. Never thought I would want fucking Newhook back on the 1L. Plays just die on Slafs stick lmao

  12. Honestly, I was impressed with Caufield beyond just his goal. He did well protecting the puck, good zone entries, by far the best hustle.

  13. One of those games where it was just not our day starting with the double penalty and never getting into the rythm. Hawks smelled their chance and was higly motivated to break their losing streak

  14. Slaf has been atrocious. Stuck in the mud and no effort. Only time you notice him is when it’s unfortunately a poor effort/play.

  15. Not impressed with Slaf. He never played his way onto the top line, but he’s definitely playing his way off it. I think Heineman deserves a promotion to one of the top two lines.

  16. Reading the comments in the GDT I feel like I’m going crazy lol because I don’t think that was a lack of effort. Yes, couple of players had a bad game but it doesn’t change the fact that the team really tried. The goalie on the other side was solid. Hawks scored on their chances, we didn’t. Good team shouldn’t lose to worse teams right? Well, Vegas, Florida and Tampa all kinda did. It happens, nothing crazy.

Let’s talk about Dach. He had a really great night. I’m so happy to see him play like that

  17. Every time Slaf touches the puck it’s a turnover, can we please send him down to develop? I consistently see him toss the puck to absolutely nobody or if he does make a pass it’s towards someones feet and it’s an awful pass. Sending him down to the AHL to learn more would be very beneficial IMO.

  18. Slaf with a real tough one, not panicking because the numbers have been fine recently, but he needs to get back to playing a heavy hard-working game.

Immature game overall, these are the games you need to have if you want to make the playoffs.

  19. Chicago was butthurt about their outdoor loss and came for a win, their goalie stood on his head and we had a few key pieces sick.

    The way she goes.

I will say one scandalous thing. I think we should put should switch out Slaf and Heineman for a while.

  20. Got outplayed in net badly. Slaf needs to wake up. So slow, doing nothing with the puck. He brings down Cole and Nick too.

I’d actually like to see Laine on the top line

  21. Heineman Is a really good player, he thrives with very limited opportunities. Excited to see what he is like in his prime

  22. Some of y’all get so defensive over Slafkovsky criticism. I truly don’t get it. If the guy isn’t playing well then drop him down a few lines or demote him to the AHL to work on his game. He’s just another prospect, no different than the rest. That draft position is making you nuts

  23. Would love to swap Slaf and Heineman for a few games and see what happens. I’m big Slaf supporter and I think he’s gonna be fine in the long run but Heineman deserves a look in the top six.

  24. It’s getting hard to support Slaf. So many bad habits in his game. So slow and so soft.

The guy is completely useless if not a net negative most games and he’s about to be paid almost 8 Mil…

Hope he turns it around but it’s not looking for a 1st OV
