  1. I can’t believe half of these fans say you play til the whistle which I can respect. But, seeing an injured goalie that can’t defend his own net to save his life isn’t fair either.

  2. Literally just came from watching the SDPN VIP podcast and on the VIP they say things they maybe shouldn't and one of them just told the story of how Cassie Campbell a very well known ex-player, ex-Captain of Canada, she slammed a ref on HNIC and then only an hour later while still on broadcast was suddenly apologising cause "That ref, he has a family, they could be watching, so I'm sorry" THOSE WERE HER WORDS.

We are never getting fair officiating again are we?

  3. You're doing a fantastic job! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?

  4. If the puck had been in the crease, sure. But Benson had to get up, go to the corner, gather the puck, turn around, and skate behind the net and hit the wraparound. Like. This wasn't an immediate process

  5. The Ave have the talent to win. They are frustrating at times when they seem to lack energy. This is a great example, they turned up the heat to 11 and had a great win. If they played at 90% at the beginning of the game they would not be playing from behind so much. Will not skill.

  6. It was so good to see the team spirit kick in. Hell no it's anyone winning a game like that. And the whole team just willed the win. Beautiful to watch! Couldn't have been scripted better.

  7. I was watching the score on ESPN web site on my phone between Colorado and Buffalo in overtime. They had Buffalo won the game last night. I was disappointed and turned off my phone.

  8. Since we're all being big mad today, I'm gonna gripe about the offside challenge rule (not the review in this game, but the rule):

Was the goalie interfered with? Review it.
Was the puck kicked into the net? Review it.
Did a player high-stick the puck into the net? Review it.
Was a player who was not involved in the play a quarter of an inch offside on the zone entry 1:35 before the goal? WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE??

ENOUGH with the offside challenge. On most goals that get called back, the attacking team doesn't even gain an advantage with the offside.

The other team's forward crosschecks your d-man in the face leaving him wide open to score immediately from the slot? We didn't see. Good goal. It is what it is.

Your forward exiting the ice for a line change had one foot in the bench and one skate blade in the zone on the entry a minute prior to a goal? NO GOAL. We can't have that!

Also, there is no recourse when the linesman incorrectly calls offsides to deny a scoring chance or breakaway. You have to live with that judgement call, but on the other side you get to review it, regardless of it's significance to the play/goal?? It's nonsense.

Worst of all, it detracts from the excitement of the game. Toews OT goal is as exciting as hockey gets, but if it were not a breakaway, fans wouldn't be able to celebrate the win without first having to make sure it wasn't getting called back for offsides. Especially come playoff time, it kills so much of the fun.

I will die on this hill.

  9. It’s absolutely ridiculous that they blow the whistle for Dahlin going down in the slot early in the game and then sit there and watch Wedgewood writhing in pain, clearly injured, in his own net while Buffalo scores into an empty net. I hope this leads to some changes, the league says they’re “all about player safety” but anyone watching that play can see that’s not true. I’m glad they turned this into fuel for an absolutely awesome comeback. Man, i was so pissed watching Benson celebrate like that after the goal, i can only imagine how the players felt. But Go Avs and keep rocking DNVR.

  10. I guess the only argument I can make for the ref is he lost track of the play until Benson corralled the puck with no Av nearby and took in Wedgewood and thought "oh, this injury just happened and it's an imminent scoring chance, I need to eat the whistle.

Having said that, HE WAS WRITHING IN PAIN FROM THE MOMENT HE WAS HIT!!! If you don't see that, heck, hear it, during the 3 seconds before Benson got the puck, you don't belong wearing black and white. I wouldn't want to play a game with that guy as the ref.

Completely inexcusable, even if the teams were reversed.

  11. I'm not a fan of hockey fights. But Benson needs to sign his game check over to whomever it was (Girard I think) who took off after him. Because that was the most cringeworthy, inappropriate, classless goal celebration I've seen in my 30+ years of watching/playing. You scored on a guy who was in the fetal position due to you falling on him. Play till the whistle, fine. But if you score that you just skate off the ice. Seriously dude.

I think most players in that spot would have felt awful about the injury (even if he was pushed, you know it's your body that injured the guy), and worse about having scored on him after it. Ruff probably pulled him aside after the game and chewed his bum, because as much as the goal counting, Benson's idiocy set the Avs alight.

  12. Read the rule book

The applicable rule is 8.1, which states: "When a player is injured so that he cannot continue to play or go to his bench, the play shall not be stopped until the injured player’s team has secured control of the puck. If the player’s team is in control of the puck at the time of injury, play shall be stopped immediately unless his team is in a scoring position."
