They have a worse record than us, but that hasn’t stopped anyone else from beating us this season.

Lindgren still getting top minutes while Jones is scratched and the Miller – Fox pairing is seemingly dead and buried now. This team is so cooked

I’d say a loss here would bring changes, but we’ve been saying that for months
Maybe we aren’t playing Jones so he doesn’t shine too bright and teams don’t come calling at the deadline? Maybe Miller isn’t with Fox so that way we can point to that the fact he excels when paired with a top D-Man and his value isn’t tanked? My Cope level is at 20/10.
Two bottom feeders in a battle for better lottery chances
With a loss against the Blackhawks tonight, the Rangers will be five points above the worst record in the league. Right now, the Rangers are five points below the last wild card spot.
The Senators hold the last wild card spot. They are on pace for an 87 point season. For the Rangers to get to 87 points, they need to go 26 and 18 the rest of the way. Do you see 26 wins on the remaining schedule? If you do, then tonight’s game is surely one of those. This is a pivotal game. Which way, gentlemen?

The cycle of events for NYR player development usually works something like this:
1. Young player is really good with good players but isn’t so good with bad players
2. NYR takes young player away from good players to put him with bad players
3. NYR scapegoats young player for not playing well with/fixing bad player, instead of just blaming the bad player for being bad
4. NYR sells low on young player and keeps bad player
5. New team takes young player and puts him with good players
6. Young player plays well on new team, and everyone says “gee why didn’t he do that when he was here, these guys seem to always do better once they leave the Rangers”
7. Repeat, with lesson not learned
If Laviolette actually wants to start winning games again on a consistent basis (e.g. winning 2 games in a row for the first time since November 19) then he should be putting Miller/Fox back together and taking Lindgren out of the lineup for Jones. But Laviolette is determined to play Lindgren/Fox together until the end of time so he can say “see we won with them together, I told you that’s not the issue”
A loss tonight should bring about the firing of both Lav and Drury.
Could be double black Monday for my Giants and Rangers.
