[Ragazzo] The New York Yankees showed interest in a trade for Gavin Lux a few weeks ago, but the Seattle Mariners have been more aggressive in pursuit of the Dodgers infielder

  1. Gavin lux isn’t good though right? Like he’s an average to below average hitter an average runner and a below average fielder. The mariners giving up anything real for him is crazy, even pursuing him is kind of crazy

  2. what would that package even look like lol, if we’re in on Roki do we even need more MLB ready pitching (Castillo)? Our rotation is already stuffed with Glasnow, Snell, Yama, Gonsolin, May, Sasaki, Ohtani, Kershaw, Miller (?), Knack, Sheehan (?). And before people say injuries, yeah I get it but I’m still missing some more of our minor league depth, so it just seems excessive

Unless this is a Busch-type trade where we just get prospects, which okay then

  3. The dude has a career OPS+ of 96 and a one season high of 109. I know Seattle needs SOMEONE to play 2B. But this has Kolton Wong written all over it. At this point Mariners need to just need to give up on trading. Teams know we’re desperate and I don’t see how we get a good trade, we are in a situation where we will likely be the one’s over paying to get the deal done. So I’d rather just trust one of our dudes in the minors to make the leap over a trade for a player who looks like he’ll give you the classic Seattle Mariners offensive regression.

  4. At this point, Harold Reynolds will be starting at second base for the Mariners. Anyone know where in the wide world of sports Brendan Ryan is?

  5. I’m curious, who do you think is more valuable? Brett Baty or Gavin Lux? Both are guys I feel that have been talked about being traded the last year now. Both guys that were highly touted prospects. Both haven’t lived up to expectations so far. Now obviously they are at different stages in their career, but I think they are pretty similar cases.

  6. Lux would be a good cheap add for Seattle. Contract fits exactly what they’re looking for and due to his age I can’t imagine it would cost a ton in the way of prospects.

  7. I think we will regret doing this. He is going to be going into prime age years.

  8. Do the mariners have a lot of open roster spots? Dodgers need to dump 40 man players so I could see a move like if they have room

Mariners get: Chris Taylor, Gavin Lux and hunter fedducia plus cash.

Dodgers get: 2 prospects in the 10-20 range from the mariners.

  9. Maybe I’m just an irrational Dodgers hater, but what value does Lux even have? He’s the epitome of an average player. Last year he had 101 OPS+, .250 BA, 10 HR, 5 SB, -2 DRS…sure he was hurt in ‘23 but his best year had very similar numbers. Dodger fans in here are talking like he’s going to be the centerpiece for a Mariners SP or he’s going to get a top prospect haul back. Huh??

  10. Noooo… I know infield is looking crowded if they are going to move Mookie there. But please don’t take our meme king.

Besides, Enrique needs a partner in his dick bump celebration (assuming he comes back at some point, too).

  11. The real question is how are the Mariners about to get screwed in this deal… 🤔

  12. Another season of mediocrity. An average player — who will almost certainly be below average in Seattle — is our big offseason move.
