1. Oh boy. How bad are the trade rumors this time.

2. Sloppy, hyper paced but fun game, Rangers basically not being able to score without huge mistakes kinda says it all about their season lol good win.

7. Just got home from the sharks game. Man.. I did not expect so many people, so loud.. reminded me of the old days.

   Took my dad to his first game since he went into remission. Good game, Celebrini "being Celebrini", askarov is a total "ham" (his on the ice celly with the fans… Not shown on tv)
   Couldn't have asked for a better 1st game to take my dad to.

8. Did the Caps even win 1 game last season conceding 4+? If they did it wasn't many. Pretty sure they've already had a few this season

9. I admit I’m a band wagon caps fan simply to watch Ovechkin. He and McDavid are 2 of my favorite players even when they torch my Red Wings. As a hockey fan in general I’m excited to see Ovechkin break the record. Obviously a lot of Gretzky’s records won’t ever be broken but the fact someone is within striking distance for goals should excite all hockey fans.

16. I'm going to enjoy this winning streak while Askarov is up. When Vanecek comes back from IR and they send Askarov back down to the Cuda we'll be in full tank mode. I wonder if we'll see the Granlund deal around that time as well.

21. New Year, same 💩 The New York Rangers core is done. Sure, Kreider scored but anyone know if Panarin still plays? Mika takes plays off to sulk. Lafreniere, Cuylle, Bueller?
    Ranger fans are asking Drury to be fired. Yes, I didn’t like Buchnevich trade. Nor did I like caving in and giving Igor $11.5M/season. Good luck getting UFAs to take less. I most definitely didn’t like Kakko trade. However these are all Gorton’s guys.
    The Rangers’ biggest problem is the fact they are loaded with offensive minded defensemen. Fox would rather paint his toe nails than check his man. Nobody intimidates the opponent after Trouba was gone. K’Andre Miller? Doesn’t use his size like he should. Lindgren? The injuries have diminished his game. I love Zac Jones but he’s too small. Already have Fox.
    You NEED big nasty defensemen to protect your goalie.

25. There was a time when the Sharks, Kings and Ducks were good all at the same time and good teams coming in for that California road trip would leave with 0 or 1 point.

28. Well, the linesman kept the puck in the O zone for the Sharks for that last goal, but i guess this things happen …

29. One big reason I have Celebrini as the favorite as of right now for the Calder besides his point totals is who he's been playing next to for much of the season. I mean they have so much faith in him and know he's talented enough that they can have him out there on a line with Smith who's still having his ups and downs and Graf who's barely played at the NHL Level and before Graf it was usually either someone else with little experience like Kovalenko or someone with little offensive skill in Goodrow. Has only had a handful of games where he at least had Toffoli or Zetterlund with him. Yet even with two guys who have a lot of room to grow he's still standing out in basically every game. Also he plays a full game at a much much higher level than Michkov who has pretty much always had one proven veteran on a line with him and then Frost who's a solid looking young player.

    And then Hudson who I would probably put 2nd has played a ton of games with his partner being Matheson who's been a great defender for awhile now.

30. I cannot believe the Devils right now. They're in a slump alright but my god, -25 goals scored above expected (31st in the NHL), and first in expected goals for, I pray the mix of bad puck luck and horrible whiffs ends soon. Bottom 6 needs to do more, glad Cotter is getting a bit of mojo back. Markstrom should have saved that last shot but man, the ref blocking siegenthaler TWICE from clearing with 30 seconds left is just poetic with how bad the reffing has been against NJ lately.

31. Why am I not surprised that the Devils would be the team that doesnt score late to beat SJ? Ive heard people high on NJ this year, I submit theyre high on something else. Not good enough against the lower tier.
