INSTANT REACTION: Ken Dorsey & Andy Dickerson FIRED; Kevin Stefanski SAFE for the Cleveland Browns
The Browns fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey after his one season with the team, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Sunday, per sources.
Cleveland, which finished 3-14 and averaged 15.2 points per game, also fired offensive line coach Andy Dickerson, per Pelissero.
Pelissero added that these changes are not expected to extend to Kevin Stefanski, as the plan is to have the head coach return for a sixth season in charge of a remodeled offensive staff.
Dorsey, 43, joined Cleveland during the 2024 offseason after he was fired by the Bills midway through his second season as OC in Buffalo. Dorsey took over for Brian Daboll with the Bills in 2022 and was succeeded by Joe Brady. Who will succeed Dorsey with the Browns remains to be seen.

In Cleveland, Dorsey inherited an offense that under the stewardship of Stefanski and previous OC Alex Van Pelt ranked 10th in scoring and 16th in total yards in 2023, despite the absence of Nick Chubb and a carousel at quarterback after Deshaun Watson was lost for the season. PJ Walker and Dorian Thompson-Robinson took snaps under center before Joe Flacco stepped in to lead Cleveland into the postseason and to a win in the Wild Card Round.
Dorsey did not reap similar results in a comparable one season at the helm. The Browns are set to finish dead last in points scored and 28th in total yards entering Sunday’s final slate of games. Despite losing Watson and Chubb again to season-ending injuries and shortened campaigns, Cleveland under Dorsey did not enjoy the same success that the 2023 Browns did. Jameis Winston provided bursts at times — and viral moments — but was turnover-prone (13:12 TD-to-INT ratio) and lost the Browns a few games with his errant passing, leading to his benching in favor of DTR.
After totaling a season-high 32 points and 552 yards in a Week 13 loss to the Broncos, the Browns scored a total of 40 points over their last five weeks, an average of 8 points per game. Cleveland was lifeless Saturday with Bailey Zappe under center — its fourth starting QB of the year — in its season-ending 35-10 loss to Baltimore.
The new OC in Cleveland will be working under similar circumstances as the departed Dorsey and Van Pelt did before him. Stefanski, a two-time Coach of the Year, and general manager Andrew Berry are expected to return after signing extensions in June. Watson is also expected back after he and the Browns agreed to terms on a restructured contract with an adjustment aimed at easing future salary cap burden.
Cleveland is, however, primed to add a young QB to compete with Watson, who has not lived up to the fully guaranteed $230 million contract he signed following his 2022 trade from Houston. The Browns are guaranteed to select in the top three of the 2025 NFL Draft and, entering Sunday, are slotted at No. 1.

The line was built for the west Coast offensive no the rpos offenses
Baker is in the playoffs again FYI
My fingers are crossed that the Tennessee Titans will fire Brian Callahan (and by extension Bill Callahan) and that my Cleveland Brownies will hire them (as OC and AHC/OL respectively) for 2025!
Cmon Mcnuggets. You aren't making any sense. You say Stefanski is a good coach but still want him fired because the browns might start the year poorly next season? What kind of logic is that off a made-up hypothetical? The truth is they made offensive changes away from Stefanski's system to try and make Watson work. It didn't, so they are going back to Stefanski's system – you know the one that made him a 2 time COTY.
Ken "Scapegoat" Dorsey.
What do I call that? A good start.
I want to see someone publicly shamed, and preferably fired, for the ongoing, unsolved pre-snap penalty problem.
Its sad you just hired a coach to just pay them to fire them ill take that job . 😂😂😂😂
Bring back AVP, NE just fired him. Get him on a plane now. Trade down from 2….get more picks, and get Garrett some help, get a WR, get a free agent QB and Draft a QB next year. Callahan was a huge loss but I highly doubt he comes back but we should beg him and AVP to come back
Scapegoat City is Cleveland's new nickname. 3-14 and they blame everyone else but the loser Head Coach.
What other head coach would come here, no coach with options, that’s for sure.
Watson was up and down? What drugs were you taking? Where exactly was the up?
Dorsey is just the patsy. Stefanski can finally get the personnel he needs to get his offense up and running.
So if that famous profane train that was said on Hard Knocks wasn’t even Andy, why (or what) TF was he even hired for, just to have the title for a year and truly play with his Dickerson in a corner? Haslam all the way down to the assistant’s assistants need to be fired and turn this circus back into a professional football team 🫤
Travis Hunter please 🙏🙏
Travis Hunter
Still remember it's A business first and Jimmy finger signs the check he is ok
Still remember the owner and GM Are the One's calling the show regardless who the head coach is.
Trade down, acquire assets, get a bridge QB, draft Dart in the 3rd or 4th round sounds reasonable. Why? Shadeur seems frail with a noodle arm, and questionable attitude. Think I’m lying? Go back and watch Deions reality series when he was with Tracy Edmonds and peep how youthful Shadeur was behaving. I know he was a kid and all but it’s certain traits we WE ALL have as youths that don’t quite fully dissipate when we’re young adults. On the other hand, WARD holds the ball too long, and isn’t quite the athletic you assume him to be. Buddy got GYNECOMASTIA and might be selfish given the way he sat out the second half of that bowl game to get a personal record but cost the rest of his team a win. 👀🐸☕️
Ventrone needs to go too
Thats the problem Haslam said we have the right people in charge and Berry, Deposdesta and Stefanski are clueless
Please draft Travis Hunter
Let's stop Haslam spends money he like all of us are impatient to become winners we need a fullback on this team for short yardage and blocking also we need offensive line take only cam ward if we get chance
