How these questions SHOULD go… “Torts, seeing how you are winning about 1.5 games out of every 3, do you feel you will be 6, 8 or 10 points out of the playoffs come April?”
I honestly think Torts is an amazing coach. This year is already done I really expected a lot. Hopefully next year we see the playoffs. Typical
It is good for Torts to go into the details and even repeating himself with these interview questions about Michkov. We see the Vinny Lecavalier question comment from the reporter and how it led to explaining his understanding of adding a general defensive awareness to Michkov, and that he couldn't have won the cup with Tampa if Vinny didn't become great at that side of the game: playing well without the puck.
TK has become an expert shot blocker and demonstrates he can score from that type of defensive maneuver to an expert level last year, and showed you can create offense by understanding AND exploiting your opponents' offensive gameplan. Learning that side of the game has led to him becoming a dominant playmaking top 6 winger this year. TK was always good offensively, but under Torts he has taken TK farther by giving him tools and refining his technique.
All overachievers, Mich real talent but will never be an elite player. Flyers last place team without Torts. Torts has tremendous impact, he has done it before with no talent teams. Flyers are the Cleveland Browns of the NHL. They can't even lose right, they are the epitome of average and cant even tank.
