Darnell wright nees to take a huge step
This is the Swift I'm talking about breaking down players & giving inside analysis. Bro I literally been saying this all off-season to the point of nausea just defended Dexter earlier on several bears media outlets, but you have to remember we are living in the time of popularity & Fame, Carter is a beast and a No doubt All pro year in year out if he can stay healthy and on track, but the bears are not the eagles first and foremost, do we not remember the "leadership" or lack thereof from this bears locker room last season; meanwhile the eagles have two potential Hall of famers one on defense and one on offense, players like Darius slay, Jalen hurts who showed the world he is not only a great QB, but a leader of men who I also wanted the bears to trade for when I believe after his second season everyone was ready to give up on him, Vic fangio who was the bears DC the last time they made the playoffs and half of his college teammates, so you can't even compare the two situations. I also always mentioned Darnell Wright fans seem to forget came in the same draft when Poles actually invested high capital in an offensive line draft pick, and big man Dexter that coincidentally was the first player that I was doing scouting on not having a Clue the bears would draft him, through two seasons I believe Dexter statistical numbers are right on par with Carter and even better in some areas, his growth is also amazing, what I love most about the kid is his dedication I believe Carter is a better pass rusher and vertical threat on the defensive line, but sideline to sideline and chasing down plays from behind Dexter is simply amazing for a kid his size. Now I'll actually watch the video for your analysis I was just so excited to finally hear someone with football knowledge that can actually give some contexts to the evaluation of both players 🐻⬇️
Another great video Swift.
I approve this message.
It will take some hard work by Ben Johnson and the rest of the team to turn a lot of negative fans into confident fans. Love me some Big Dex.
No one should complain about drafting a quality tackle imo. And I'm super excited for Dexter next season, there is a lot of depth at DL this draft, and with 2nds, I'm excited to see what we do. DL needed more depth desperately this year. Hopefully Booker can continue to develop as well.
Once we get some help Dexter will be ballin
I'm pleased that you have Gervon Dexter's back. He's a very good player, and still getting better, IMHO. Another point you mentioned, but I'd like to repeat is that coaching does matter. May the new coaches on the Bears prove this point in 2025.
You are 100% correct Swift. Great breakdown
The best way to unlock gervon Dexter is to draft a sidekick in Walter Nolan.
Jalen Carter behavior will be a problem for Eagles…he’s gotten into it with Eagles fans and a dirty hit against Steelers player that ended in a face off with Siriani and one of the defense coordinators
Great video bro! The talent on the roater matters. Our roater is younger and better than it has been in a long time. Rebuilds typically take about 3 years to show fruit, which is why I believe they extended Poles. Were ahead of "Pace' no pun intended 😂. This off season is probably the biggest lf Poles career. Bottom line is we need to win this up coming season. Being in close games doesn't count anymore. When the game clock hits 00:00 more oten than not the Bears nead to be up.
Great video and awesome breakdown 🐻⬇️
Gervon Dexter is not and will never be a superstar. I had high hopes for him and Pickens. No longer. Pickens may be gone before next season starts. Dexter…I don't think he will get a 2nd contract unless he is cheap, for depth. Not a star(ter)
If poles would have drafted defensively with the 1st pick two years in a row, fickle minded bears fans would have been complaining. We didn’t draft oline for Justin , because he’s getting sacked a lot. Now because Carter made it to the Super Bowl and made a pro bowl they think we have the wrong guy. If they drafted Carter there would be no Gervon and we’d have Larry borom at RT. The grass isn’t greener Darnell is solid and has been consistent on this line even with inadequate inferior coaching. Give him real support with real coaching and watch the turnaround. The bears have been a terrible bad franchise. We’re now finally moving in the right direction
You are spot on swifty!
Ok.. 1st thing is Dex is not a 3tech , he is MUCH better served as a NT.. Bears are trying to make a NT into a 3tech and trying to turn a 3tech (Pickens) into a NT.. Its ridiculous.. More of the Bears square pegging into Round holes, hopeful this new staff stops the lunacy.. Dex cant hold Carters Jock at 3tech, the numbers and the Eye test tell you that if you have seen good 3techs. Pickens is more of a 3tech tactician than Dex, and Dex is a way better NT than Pickens will EVER be. Dex get off is still slow/delayed, he doesnt have the burst you want to see in a 3tech, his "Get skinny" skill is underdeveloped and he still waits for the run instead of just being aggressive because his college coach messed him up by forcing him to do that on every single snap, as you mentioned, get he double just as much as anyone else on that Bears line BUT he doesnt get doubled the most. Carter got doubled more than anyone on his team. There is a reason for that and good 3techs get doubles more than anyone else on the team and that helps all the other Dlineman get 1v1 match ups. Carter is a top 15 interior Dlineman and Dex is not even in the top 40. Dex may become a great player, but every one that has seen good 3techs know that its not going to be at 3tech, it is not in him. cant turn a dog into a cat. He has a better chance probowling at NT than 3tech and it aint close today..
The Bears have to keep swinging at 3tech and hopefully draft a good 3tech that plays like a good 3tech if they can and that will help DEX look good (and all the other Dlineman as well) then maybe he can Probowl at NT some day. They better pick a side of the ball to fix this off season, because drafting 3techs has been horrible for the league for the last 2 draft seasons. only Two (2) 3techs out of two years worth of 3techs are looking good. I dont anticipate that to change. We keep seeing the same thing year after year.. Just because the season is over and there is no game on sunday ppl just forget what they witnessed for a whole season. We knew during the season that Dex wasnt that dude at 3tech and now everyone forgets what they watched???? This Oline was horrible and #58 was not good either, he was average and the rest of the line was so bad that ppl think average is actually good. #58 regressed this season and that is a fact. So they better fix the Oline this year and hope to scheme that Dline into overall average play while hoping the back 7 can look very good. All these top draft picks should go to the Oline, unless the best 3 tech falls to 10, but if you are not getting the BEST 3tech in this class you need to focus on starters on the other side.
The talent floor has to be raise on both lines but more so on the offensive line or you will see the same thing you saw last year and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that. We get into the off season and ppl forget the Clown Show they saw across that oline all year at 4/5 positions. You guys need to jump back into reality and re-watch the season or something to refresh your minds.. Seeing guys talk about signing high priced DEs when you only have 1 average starter on that O-line that doesnt get predictably destroyed (at a extraordinary high clip) by speed rushes from average DEs, is ridiculous, cringy and I just yell every time I see it.. This team had Mack and Quinn. Even with a 18 sack season, teams easily schemed quinn out and before that the prior year when the 3tech went down for the season (and for good) for the Bears teams easily schemed Mack and Quinn out , because its easier to scheme out 2 good DEs than to scheme a good 3tech and a good DE tandem.
We gonna gonna be watching the playoffs again next year , while LAST in the division next year again, with 2 very good DEs that get schemed all year and a below average Oline again if some of these folks have there way.. PPL are just begging for a repeat and want the shiny objects (Again – you got a lot of shiny objects just less that a year ago – where did that get you??) instead of focusing on the #1 problem with this team, knowing that your not going to hit on every Olineman so you better draft a bunch of them, cause your only getting average place holders in FA, no one is leaving a winning situation to come be last in the division and play in the damn snow…
And once KC RESTRUCTURES Maholms contract they will have like 50M to spend and if your a good top tier Olineman your going there to play with the MJ of Football, not to Chicago as your 1st choice even if Chicago wants to over pay you.
Adding Darnell Wright was critical. The OL still needs more help. The OL has 5 starters compared to the DL with only 4. The Bears still need to draft 2 more OL.
Big dex a beast
Matt Eberflus did not have the locker room culture to develop a guy like Jalen Carter.
It's Thursday February 13, 2025. Cole Kmet still blocks like Alice in Wonderland. Ryan Poles is NOT my king and by simple math is a 5-12 GM. Pittsburgh loves him though.
Thank you swifty, I'm so tired of all the hate towards Ryan poles. I'm very happy with the job he's done and very high on Dexter. Great work swifty
Would be awesome to see Dex become one of the leaders to lead a improved defense.
People are so quick to get caught up in their feelings that they actually believe that we messed up by not taking Carter and taking Wright instead. They have the same logic with this as they did with us taking Trubisky over Mahomes, they believe that we would have gotten the same level of player had they come here and it’s extremely false. Those guys are great players because they went to the better organizations and those orgs had better coaches. I believe we will see the same positive changes in Dex, Caleb, heck everyone with this new coaching staff
That's why we need to hit the trenches hard this year, we need another Edge and DT on defense and 2 guards and a center on offense. Love the show swifty always level headed, facts over narrative 👏
homer shit. arguably as good as Jalen Carter…are you insane..this is silly…swifty you reachin!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHAT YOU SAID TOTALLY TRUE🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dexter's supposed to be a three-tech. He's supposed to be in great shape. As a three-tech he didn't penetrate into the backfield enough.. I sit at the day he was drafted and I'll stick with it he's overdrafted. And Pickens is even worse.
I don't always agree with you swifty but i totally agree with you on gervon Dexter
Carter doesn’t have the character or discipline Big Dex does. A lot of the narratives are just plain dumb.
I’ve not seen any posts questioning the pick of Wright at 10 from Bears fans, if anything Bears fans like me wished Poles used more 1st and 2nd day picks on the OLine and not less. Had Wright been a bust, then that would’ve been different, but right now Wright is looking promising and fills a much bigger need. Any self-professed Bears fans who want Carter over Wright are either trolling or just don’t know how contenders are built. I may be one of Poles biggest detractors, but even I can’t question his decision to trade back and draft Wright instead of Carter.
He needs to talk to Tommy Harris orcWarren Saop
People forget to think about what and who Jalen Carter may have been after coming to Chicago. I'm not saying Carter is a bad human being in any way. But the chaos that surrounded this team last year would probably have drastically changed Carter's rookie season. He is surrounded by excellent D lineman in Philly. Montez is awesome, but other than Dexter, is not enough to propel Carter into the position he is currently in.
Dude? You are debating on production when the Bears won 5 games against the Eagles that beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl? 😂😂
Carter is a game wrecker right now! Dexter is a guy we HOPE can help this team!
Please bro! I like your content but just stop! ✋
😂😂😂😂😂
carter> wright and dexter combined
Being a bears fan is miserable shit man. I love you swift but i understand because we gotta hype bs sub par players up. Bears fan deserve better than this bullshit organization dog. I hate that I'm a fan of this embarrassing ass organization bro.
Good players on Terrible teams dont get the shine they deserve. Best example Brian Thomas Jr in Jax. had a PROBOWL year on a terrible team
I haven’t watched it yet but I can’t tell you about to throw your back out reaching this hard😂😂
Sacks are not the most important thing for a DT.Jalen Carter right now is a game wrecker.Gervon disappears at times.Numbers are cool but the eye test is telling me they’re not even close right now.
People forget that carter had the off the field issues
You’re a completely delusional Bears fan passing on Carter was dumb period. Darnell Wright ain’t on sh*t
The Big Dex and Darnell Wright slander is mind boggling to me. When I talk to fans of other teams, these two players are talked about in such high regard, but for some reason, people that are supposed to be fans of the team think they’re trash and I don’t understand it😂 great video brother keep it coming. I am so ready for free agency and the combine. 🐻🔽
