Albert Breer: “Rodgers did tell Mougey and Glenn that it was his tentative intention to play in 2025. These things can change, of course, but Rodgers gave the Jets the impression that he had unfinished business to take care of.
• Rodgers showed plenty of self-awareness in his exit interviews with the team, bringing up on his own the possibility that the team would want a fresh start, and showing that he knew the decision on that wouldn’t be his own. As such, there was really no attempt from either side at negotiating a third year for Rodgers with the team.”

  1. Unfortunately Aaron Rodgers truthers will bring this stuff up throughout the whole season no matter how good or bad the teams plays. If they play well they are gonna say that the team would be even better with Rodgers, if they suck they are gonna say that the team wouldn’t suck with Rodgers as QB. We’ll never hear the end of it.

  2. It's pathetic at this point that everyone is trying to make a case for Rodgers. The facts are that Rodgers wasn't good this year. Yes, he put up some numbers, but numbers can be deceiving regarding the outcome in the game , and all these critics, especially sports critics that were saying during the year Rodgers should retire are the same ones saying now the Jets made a mistake for letting him go. When the Jets fired Saleh, every sports critics was saying it was a mistake the same people that was shouting for the Jets to fire Saleh. This prove that the media as well some Jets fans are actually haters of the team.

  3. Sauce, GW, Breece, the Williams brothers, none of these young guys want to be here for a rebuild. Theyre wasting prime years on a team that hasnt sniffed the playoffs in 15 years. Whoever the qb is needs to give them a chance at the playoffs. I have no interest in a rookie

  4. Big question being asked next February….."What were we thinking when we fired the best QB in Jets recent history?"
Jets win 6 games next year….have fun "building". Geez……

  5. Crazy salah wins 7 games w out a consistent qb, you’d think w a”4x mvp” at qb would get you at least 3 extra make the playoffs on wildcard. And for bro to only get 5 games which is Less than a third of the season, idk where this half way through the season is 8 1/2 games. Robert got half of that for them to have their worse year as a team and 3rd best year at qb in the history of the franchise just be at square 1 a year later not even 3 years from getting rid of darnold, Zach’s gone and not even 9 months later Aaron’s gone filthy work🤣🤣🤣

  6. The season went downhill when we lost to Denver 10-9. Losing to Minnesota was understandable since they’re a good team and we traveled to London.. but Denver at home was horrible

  7. Yes, can't wait until he's completely out of sight, out of mind. The Rodgers experiment was a fiasco and he was 50% responsible. The die was cast as soon as the Jets hired Nathaniel Hackett as OC. Forget his injury, forget his late season stats. The only thing that matters is their pathetic record which was directly or indirectly connected 100% to his toxic ego. Just ask the Packers. BTW, is Hackett still employed in the laundry?

  8. Sad that he actually left the way he did , it’s a very sad breakup cause he had a good bounce back year , but hey I’m excited for the reset and the QB for the future

  9. Please say it again for the irrational, overly emotional, armchair GMs in the back. A lot want to run it back with a 41 Y/O aging QB at $49 million in 25, 62 million in 2026 that we'll owe him, and 38 million for Devante Adams and then will be crying again when we have no cap space in those 2 seasons to make moves and can't keep our own homegrown talent, because of a jacked up cap figure. For a so-called savior who didn't elevate the Jets with 17 games and 4 snaps under his belt, over the past 2 seasons. With pretty much the same roster we had in 2023. We had a total of 12 wins between the 2 seasons. 5 in 2024 (2 less than 2023 where the QBs were Zach Wilson and journeymen QBs). So CLEARLY AR was no savior. There's a HUGE contingency of Jets fans that truly need to get over their emotions and think strategically

  10. The only way I could see this move backfire from a Public relations, fan standpoint is if Rodgers goes to a team like the Raiders and makes them a playoff team. Also if the Jets are awful and not playing competitive football. If Glenn can find a competent rookie or bridge QB and the team wins 8 games then I think the fans will greet the season and future with enthusiasm

  11. It’s funny how every leak recently is about Rodgers and never about Aaron Glenn and his staff. You hear about them but never anything substantial. Sometimes the truth is just right there for you to see, and we just choose to ignore it.

I’m a Rodgers fan and I was excited to see him come to us, but that ship has sailed and this new regime sees this and knows this.

  12. Ian your my go to guy and even though I don’t agree with you on the Rodgers move or am I sold on Glenn and the new GM,s ability to do this rebuilding I am going to deferrer my take and go with your more optimistic view for now as I could be wrong That being said forgetting about Rodgers is not going to happen as the Jets send out QBs that don’t measure up If Rodger goes to a Pittsburgh and they make a run it will really put Glenn and this GM on the hot seat They made their bed now they will sleep on in They have a year to find a QB or that hot seat will be hotter Regards Go Jets Hoping for the best 🤙

  13. The idea that it’s better that rogers is cut is pure delusional and cope imo. He would be fine to take a pay cut, to mentor a younger qb, he gives them the best chance to win, he ensure DA is staying, and also ensures the young talent will want to stay bc despite what everyone is saying to the contrary he is well liked. Everyone can get hyped up on the idea of a fresh start but once the season starts and the team has significantly less production from the qb position and the jets are losing games, this fanbase will turn on this staff faster than woody can make a fool of himself in an interview.

  14. Rodgers is a pain in the balls. Why would anyone want him. He’s overpaid, average at best, needs to change every play at the line, needs to run his offense, needs to play with his friends and is a total distraction with all his moronic opinions off the field. Goodbye Aaron.

  15. Rodgers and the Jets would have made the playoffs this year. Their amount of teams they played into one score games were among the league's highest. I love how we, as Jets fans always try to be positive. I would have restructured the contract and kept him.

  16. I havent had an opinion on it until now. It could have went either way, but the vibe i got from Glenn is he in a no BS person, and the eclectic Rodgers didnt fit his or the new GMs identity that theyre setting out to establish. The biggest joke when it comes to the Jets is they have no culture and its a circus. Coming in and showing no matter who you are, you arent untouchable, sent a huge message.

If they just cut Rodgers, it would have been a huge "wtf" to me. But they went and gutted the upper management, and that helped show me they were deadass serious about changing..so i get it.

Hope we can move on talking about AR8 soon.

  17. Bro, I love your thoughts, but after how many years of new thought process and new ideology, you will realize that under Woody ownership, it will always be a dysfunctional franchise. I guarantee you that this new GM will suck much worse than JD. Keep drafting top 10 for next 5 years.

  18. I just didn’t see any fire from Rodgers. Faces and body language when plays didn’t work. Speaking on ESPN every week. Missing OTAs after being hurt for a year. Too many things that seemed he wasn’t all in. Not to say there weren’t things behind the scenes. But from what I saw watching them.
