  1. It would be a miracle if he’s not hurt by the playoffs. I’m fine with the risk I’m just not confident it pays off. Keeping drafting at the position till they hit on one.

  2. I'm gonna be cautiously optimistic on this one. Dude has had more than a few injury issues but I think he still has decent upside. GO BILLS 🎉

  3. High risk, high reward! I would have preferred Trey Hendrickson only because of his consistency as a game wrecker!!! The Bills need size and power on the defensive interior at this point. The interior of the defense is the key to winning the Super Bowl. The Eagles learned that lesson and went out and recruited the Georgia Bulldogs entire defensive linemen. That National Championship Bulldog defense also won the Super Bowl this year!!! It’s a no brainer! Get strong and massive defensive linemen and probabilities will be on your side!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go 🦬 Bills!

  4. If they didn't sign him, then they were in the same position regardless. It's not a ton of money for a defensive end, especially a 5-time pro bowler and the reason this is a good deal for the Bills is that it's a 1yr. Everything hinges on that 1yr length. The risk is minimal. If he gets hurt, you're only out cap room in 2025 and there's ways they can create space in-season if they need to get a deal done prior to the deadline or something.

Who else was out there on the market that the Bills could REALISTICALLY get? Trey Hendrickson? He hasn't been released and the Bengals are not going to send their premier edge rusher to a contender in their conference that they'd likely have to beat in order to get back to a super bowl. That's a fantasy. Especially not for one of Buffalo's late 2nd round picks. There will be other suitors for Trey, including NFC teams with better draft picks, and the Bengals would very much prefer to go that route versus sending him to an AFC contender. Put yourselves in the shoes of the Bengals, would you do that? Hell no, you wouldn't. The Bills would have to mega overpay to do it and then they'd have to pay him a massive 35M contract in all likelihood.

It's a decent replacement for Von, he's younger, and cheaper. We were locked into Von for multiple seasons, so you're factoring in Von's cap hit for this season, plus the dead cap of next season….so this deal for Joey is a cheaper option. Joey also plays the run, whereas Von really didn't or couldn't at this stage of his career. In fact, it's one of the cheapest options we could've made at Edge that has this high of upside potential. Whether he gets 4 sacks or 10 sacks, it's a net positive for the team. Any contribution from him is better than no additional contribution because we went into the season with Epenesa and Javon Solomon as our 2 edge players opposite of Rousseau. There wasn't really any edge players of this caliber left in free agency. Harold Landry was swiped up immediately and Pats overpaid for him, imo. For all we know, the Bills had offers in on these guys and they just went with more money or didn't want to play in Buffalo, for whatever reason. There's all sorts of reasons. State taxes, weather, location, you get the idea.

My opinion would be totally different if this was a multi-year deal. As a 1yr deal, this is a B+ signing. As a multi-year deal, it would've been a D- signing and idiotic. I'm actually very pleased that Beane got this done and it also gives us a lot more flexibility with our early draft choices. Now there's a real chance we can go corner in round 1, which I think the Bills should do…and then take D line help/depth in round 2.

  5. I'm open to seeing how Bosa & Palmer do but I would be lieing if I didn't say I have concern bringing 2guys from warm weather playoff underperforming team like LA. I've been a fan of Bosa & thought both would accomplish more in LA…. So I'm torn with a fleeting sense of optimism/upside & the dose of recent track records. I need to do some digging & film review to get refresher on their most recent metrics to get a better picture & prediction moving forward

  6. By looking at 2025 schedule, Bills will face receivers like Hopkins, Metcalf, AJ Brown, Hill, Worthy, Chase, etc. with no speed in the secondary.
    Beane better get busy!

  7. I paused at 22:48 as Matt is raising the idea that a Southern Canadian could possibly be a Western New Yorker as well. The simple answer is yes. I'm the opposite. A Western NY native who grew up at a time when television was still free. I consumed Canadian culture the same time I consumed US culture. I'm a Leafs fan. My grandparents had Canadian television as well. My closest GP was born in 17 and spent his entire life here, except for a stint in Europe. He exposed me to sports. And back then, for me, Canada put on a better television experience for most sports barring the NFL and NBA. 88 In became aware of all sports. Before that I was like ST89 at 10, baseball was my sport. Junior Amerks, what's that? They weren't in the OHL. My brother got to play on more than a pond. Yes, without a doubt, all along the border, the kids are cooler. Both sides! We did unfortunately have the box back in the day. It used to be a lot easier to cross the border as McAfee stated back in the day as well

  9. I believe Allen has a small part in the decision, like a coin flip. Give me the best oh ** button guy I had last season, the TD's will come. Just my *****

  10. Good stuff guys … my buddies and I have been texting and ticked off we let Mack 👣 leave… saying there had to be more to the story…hmm 🤔..
But your guys’ take were interesting and probably more astute than some team concerns 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️… I still wanna see sumthin with D backs for the next signings… we’re hurting there.. cya Damar👍💕/Kaiir Elam …. But they ain’t gonna cut it again… we need to do better / be better. Thx Go Bills 🏈👍🇺🇸

  11. After all the hype and anticipation about picking up a guy like Myles Garrett, Maxx Crosby, or Trey Hendrickson, the Bills wind up with a guy who is hurt on an alarmingly regular basis. This feels like a big let down. Bills might as well have just kept Von Miller.

  12. Horrible move. Aint no splash, picking up a injury prone bosa who hasnt played a full season in years. Guy is washed up. Aint gonna get over the hump makeing moves like this. This isnt no big swing, trey Hendrikson would be a big swing. Id rather have calais campbell than bosa….

  13. Bosa is only 4.5 percent of the Bills cap. It is like buying a lottery ticket. Keep Bosa in bubble wrap. Up his play in the last few games. Load Management!

  14. Go Bills – Beane will also draft a guy – he is simply covering all of his bases!! With a limited snap count until the playoffs- this could a big impact signing!! 🙏🦬💰

  15. Welcome to Buffalo new Strength and Conditioning Coach…. For your first assignment…. Keep Bosa healthy through the playoffs as far as you know… your job doesn’t depend on it 😆

  16. If it was Nick I would be excited, unless the Bills training staff can try their best to keep him healthy, don't see him making any real impact, low risk gamble I guess.

  17. Draft a DT round 1 and pick 2 DE no matter what it’s also about the future if Bosa gets hurt and is gone last year or if he thrives the money he wants may be to much plus if we get 2 premier player for the D line they will be better and the line will be set otherwise if Bosa doesn’t pan out we are back in the same position next year also Draft a good corner in the early rounds then go from there

  18. To the Why… I think maybe Bane tried to get Hendrickson, either Cincinnati asked for too much, or the more accurate, they did not want to trade him to the Bills, just saying, and I really hope this work and Bane makes another move.
