Watch the Washington sidekicks get another top 3 player in the next draft. SMH 😑
The Ausar frustration was evident tonight for sure. There were several moments during the game I thought were interesting. Early on they missed Ausar in transition or had lob opportunities thwarted. He got in quick foul trouble and when he was taken out of the game JB stopped him and had a brief conversation. The cameras stayed on Ausar and you could see his emotion as he turned away from JB. When he returned to the game, Cade made a point to get him the ball and during a stoppage of play Cade came over and put his arm around Ausar as he was bending over. I thought that was a cool leadership moment from Cade trying to uplift his teammate. Ausar was super active after that and started getting easy buckets and locked in on defense. That’s what led to the wild elbow situation that nearly knocked him out. His team came to his defense especially THJ and Tobias who you could hear screaming at the Wizard player’s through the telecast.
These little moments during games build chemistry and culture. I’m not going to compare this squad to the bad boys just yet, but there are signs that this could be a special era for the Detroit Pistons. In the 80’s our GM was nicknamed trader Jack because he had to find the right role players to surround Isiah, Bill Laimbeer, and Vinny. We have Cade, Ivy, Ausar, Duran, and Holland which is a huge start to what the Pistons had going into the 84 playoffs.
Troy was the worst GM in Pistons' history to a lot of these "fans." Getting Luke was better than Mitchell, so was maxing out Jon Leuer
