NFL agent believes Commanders’ Jayden Daniels could be first $90 million per year QB

  1. Record-breaking contracts are becoming the norm in the NFL—especially for quarterbacks.

Now, the spotlight is turning toward Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, with early discussions emerging about the possibility of him landing a $90 million-per-year deal before his contract expires in 2027.

The league’s salary cap rises each year, and as teams continue to allocate more money to the quarterbacks, the financial benchmarks keep climbing.

Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Justin Herbert all have deals averaging over $40 million annually. Given how Daniels performed this past season, it’s not far-fetched to think he could push toward $90 million annually in just a few seasons.

NFL agent J.I. Hasell, speaking to BMitch and Finlay on 106.7 The Fan, suggested that while $100 million annually might be a stretch, $90 million is “very plausible” if Daniels maintains elite-level play through his first three seasons.

For the Commanders, the smart move would be to extend Daniels as soon as he becomes eligible after Year 3—assuming he continues to prove himself as a franchise quarterback.

If Daniels develops into a top-tier player, Washington may need to brace for a historic payday.

While $90 million per year seems unimaginable today, the NFL’s financial landscape evolves quickly. He might set the next mark if Daniels lives up to the hype.

  2. If that’s what he chooses when we give him his blank check I’m fine with it

  3. F it, got a couple nice watches Im not wearing a whole lot. Give em to that man to get him to sign!

  4. 90 million seems a little dramatic lol. Could see 70 if he continues his stellar play

  5. Unlike Soto, Jayden’s not going anywhere. They need to offer him a deal the second the new league year hits in March 2027. The earlier you get the deal done, the better

  6. Pay him! He is franchise changing and will impact a team WAY more than any single skill player.

  7. If Dak can make 60 the sure, no reason JD can’t make more if he keeps taking us places. I don’t know about 90 though, that’s wild….

  8. Not sure if it will be 90 million, but barring serious injury and/or a historic collapse in ability he’ll probably get a record setting deal.

  9. I love the 180 from last off season when JD was the topic. It’s so cool that we’re all in love with him after 1 season.

  10. He’s 100% going to reset the market if he continues his current level of play.

3 years ago the very top of the market was $50 mil annually. Having increased 20% since then to $60 million I don’t see it jumping 50% over the next 3 years.

He could totally get $75 mil a year and then sign an extension a few years after that to make it $90 mil a year, but I don’t see his first contract being that rich.

  11. I remember when Flacco got $20M and everybody was just stunned by how much one guy got for a year. Now we’re talking $90M a year lol. 10 years after that $90M it will be seen as a bargain.

  12. Whatever the top QB contract at the time is slap 5 million on top and make it for as many years as you physically can. Every year these contracts go up and after 2 years it’ll look like a bargain.
