  1. Dame will be out indefinitely. DVT can take weeks or months to fully recover from, so it is fair to assume that Dame’s season could be finished.

  2. We’re actually cursed… why couldn’t we just have had 2 more months of no injuries? Every fucking season this happens

  3. oh man we’re so cooked

Edit: Bucks really cannot just have a single healthy playoff run after that ‘21 title. Hell, even that run Giannis bent his knee the wrong way. ☹️

  4. As someone who’s been hospitalized for embolisms twice… how does this happen to NBA players? For most of us it seems like the cause is ‘just not moving around enough’ but clearly not the case with them.

Must be that clotting disorder factor V leiden?

  5. Once again I ask, who else is thankful they were in the building for game 6 in 2021? Looking like a looooong time before we see anything like that again around here.

  6. Sucks for Dame. I’m sure he’s devastated.

We weren’t championship contenders, though. This isn’t like a legit chance at a ring was snatched from us or anything like that.

It will be interesting what his long term prognosis is.

  7. On a human level, Dame has had a rough couple of years. He went through a bitter divorce with too. I hope he has a strong support system around him.

  8. I remember where I was at work when I heard we traded for dame. I started shaking. I told everyone who would listen to me. I work in Illinois around people who don’t watch the NBA lmao

Really sad how it’s all worked out.

  9. God damn it dude…and there’s nothing he could have done to realistically “prevent” this either. Just crappy luck.

However it’s good they caught it and are treating it, bc if that clot were to dislodge it can cause some pretty serious and life threatening issues. Hopefully he can get cleared at some point, but if not, that’s totally understandable…this is not something you should fuck around with.

  10. The silver lining—

Usually the Bucks medical staff is great, which would give Dame time to fully recover.

I can’t speak as to whether he came back too early last year.

All in all, from what I can tell Dame is a good person, and we should all wish him well.

With luck, at some point we may actually see Dame and Giannis in a playoff series together, maybe 2026.

I’ve often been the hopium/ copium guy. My hopium / copium now is for Dame to make a full recovery no matter how long it takes.
