Honestly I like BPA. We have holes damn near everywhere and another offensive weapon is great but so is defense. This also doesn’t make other teams think we’re dead set on one guy so they can jump us
More Bryce weapons? Sign me up
I would LOVE this pick. Cam had one of the greatest TEs of all time in Greg Olsen, and in my opinion we have never been able to replace him since he has been gone.
I’ll take him over a project pass rusher
I love Sanders, but Warren is on a different level as a pass catcher. He, along with XL, could be a reliable target for Bryce for years.
Plus our 2 TE sets could be nasty. Could split them both out like 4 wide formations, or just pound the rock with Chuba.
I love the Warren pick because he helps the run game and pass game
Can someone explain the Tyler Warren thing to me. I want to love him and I want him to wow me but he just doesn’t like I would think a potential top 10 pick at TE would.
No one’s a guarantee, but I’d rather always go BPA in the first round rather than reach. Seems like the hit % is higher. Then you can make trades with good pieces to get (needed) good pieces. IIRC Kuechly was drafted with BPA strategy even though we had Beason and Davis.
I’d take one of the Michigan defenders over Warren. Graham or Johnson should be there. Perhaps both.
Im down with Warren, its a bit early for a tight end but Id be shocked if he doesn’t end up being a perennial pro bowler. Granted we are missing some metrics that could really help project his success (athleticism at TE is beyond predictive) but the tape and YAC (also very predictive of success for TEs) seem to hint that he should be among the next generation of all pro TEs.
I also like the offensive options that having 2 good TEs opens up for us- especially if we really do want to commit to running the ball.
