MLB Opening Day on March 27, 2025, delivered a thrilling start to the season with standout moments across the 14-game slate. In Seattle, the Mariners edged the Athletics 4-2, powered by late clutch home runs from Randy Arozarena and Jorge Polanco, with Logan Gilbert tossing six scoreless innings. The Cubs overcame a shaky start from Justin Steele to defeat the Diamondbacks 10-6 in Arizona, thanks to Miguel Amaya’s five RBIs and Ian Happ’s three-RBI night, including a solo homer. Meanwhile, the defending champion Dodgers celebrated their 2024 World Series title with a 5-4 victory over the Tigers in Los Angeles, highlighted by a pregame ceremony featuring Kirk Gibson and Freddie Freeman. In the Bronx, Yankees catcher Austin Wells made history by homering as the leadoff batter—the first catcher ever to do so in over 18,000 franchise games—helping secure a 4-2 win over the Brewers. These performances, alongside six games decided in the ninth inning or later, set an electric tone for the 2025 season.

  1. DFA does not mean released. Releasing a player is one possible outcome of designating a player for assignment, but it's also a prerequisite if you want to place them on waivers, trade them, or send them to the minors if they're out of options. They can also simply put him back on the 40 man roster within seven days if whatever they might have been trying to do with him doesn't pan out. I highly doubt they're going to just release him, that would be moronic.

  2. Managers/pitching coaches are telling their pitchers "Gotta go up and in to those guys" "Gotta be able to go up and in" "Can't be afraid to go up and in" Meanwhile, they are risking the careers of many stars. Bryce Harper always gets hit off those pitches too. Mookie Betts got hit last year. Its the new buzz phrase for the managers. "Gotta go up and in"

  3. 10:56 Sean Burke was incredible in his first opening start. Clevinger came in to face Trout and was a 9 pitch battle with a 3 run lead. He struck out Soler with the bases loaded. It was a nails appearance.

  4. Astros prove 1 thing at least. You don't need the best in baseball to get to the playoffs. (Aside from the garbage can beating) The Angels need to take note….FIRE EVERYONE IN THE FRONT OFFICE and FIRE THE COACHES and Arte needs to sell the team to someone who cares more about baseball than public image (and some other things I would get in trouble for accusing him of)

  5. As an Astros fan I’d say the Tucker trade with the cubs could turn out to be a win-win. Tucker is a beast, if he stays healthy and doesn’t massively slump (unlikely) Cubs fans will enjoy their year with him, while Astros got three – count ‘em THREE – opening day roster players. If Paredes finds the Crawford boxes, 20:08 Wesneski pans out as 5th starting pitcher, and Cam Smith becomes our next superstar we’ll call it an Astros win. But it’s baseball. You never know until they play all the games.

  6. Welcome back Fuzzy! I can't wait to watch your video for tomorrow and the HUGE win the Dodgers just had! What an incredible game, what an incredible start to a season! Go Dodgers! 162-0
