Can anyone explain what this means? I believe Dallas faces Seattle again tonight btw.
13 points in 8 games?
If the Jets go 4-4 in their final 8 and Dallas goes 6-3 the Jets clinch first. Thats my worst case scenario situation. I’d much prefer the Jets just go 7-1 and lock it up that way

It’s not even like I feel we need to win the division for any sake of pride or anything. I just want to see the Jets avoid the meat grinder middle bracket of the central. I’d prefer to see dal and Col beat the crap out of one another in the first round. Plus that means that one of the 2 teams that loaded up at the deadline is guaranteed to be knocked out round 1.
For a while now I’ve been doing this calculation. Always using “if the Jets just go 500 the rest of the way” math. Even if the Jets play worse than they have all year and end it , Dallas would need to be nearly perfect.
While I very much want to win the West and play WC2, the West is kinda brutal this year. Rn it looks like we one of the Avs (want to avoid them for obvious reasons), the Blues (somehow the hottest team in the league rn, of the Wild (crazy dirty team). Even the Flames (crazy dirty too) still have an outside chance. Somehow the Oilers-Kings series looks like it might be the “easiest” first round series in the West. It’s going to be a crazy playoffs this year. The WC teams in the East aren’t that scary but after that, the conference gets tough too.
The Division Magic number is also the Conference Magic number…
When they clinch I’m going to have an unclenching party. It won’t be pretty.
