  1. Worthless home run. Volpe’s average is .200. He is the prime example of why this team is will continue to sputter along–a team with lackluster pitching and completely dependent on home runs is hollow and inconsistent. That so many in this sub and fans in general are like “OMG VOLPE!!!! SO AWESOME!!!” is exactly why the front office doesn’t care about winning as much as they care about ticket sales–people just want the home runs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  2. It remains a significant flaw in the Yankees lineup that it has too many guys that have not proven they can hit left-handed pitching. On top of this, they have zero bench whatsoever.

The book is very much out on this, as they’ve been relentlessly pounded with lefty relievers threw the first 5 games and Boone’s only options on the bench are utility infielders.

Seems wild to me that they’ve gone into the season with the position player group set this way. A right-handed hitter who can hit lefties well shouldn’t be that difficult to find across the league.

  3. Gallen was dealing all night long. Gotta tip your cap and move on to the next game.

  4. Knicks were a scheduled loss and the Rangers pulled through so not too bad of a day 😅 The Yankees just need to work on their fundamentals but it’s still very early on so I’m not too concerned.

  5. Like it’s not even ALL about race with the jasson hate

There are still people that come on here and say we failed Pereza and Floria but jasson has a 117 wrc + in 3 separated stints and has shown a good eye and power this year and he’s talked about a LOT in a bad way

  6. We lost, it’s ok

Get a win tomorrow and carry the momentum forward to Pittsburgh

  7. Maybe Boone keeps pinch hitting Reyes so Cashman DFA’s him.

Torre used to do that with certain players.

  8. Tough ugly loss but side note I noticed, on baseball savant there will not be any 1/30 homers in yankee stadium this year because the Rays are playing at Steinbrenner field

  9. I don’t enjoy watching Rodon pitch, I don’t trust him, I hate his antics, the list goes on.

  10. We badly need to add a quality starter AND a power reliever. Arizona showed us what REAL shutdown pitching looks like and Carlos Rodon and Mark Leiter Jr. ain’t it. You can’t win every game 20-9.

It sucks that we lost Cole and Gil but that’s the reality of the situation and Cashman needs to address it. That means we’ll probably have to part with Jasson or Ben Rice and a couple of top prospects, but that’s what it’s gonna take.

  11. This early you can’t really identify trends with any sort of sample accuracy. I like that our last innings have not been lay down and die innings like so many have been the past few years? 💁‍♂️

  12. Too many strikeouts, no situational hitting, only scoring via the long ball..not a winning formula

  13. Same old Yankees offense. 0 situational hitting, only scoring off the homer, strikeouts. Nothing seems to change

  14. Naylor went 0-for-4, I am pleased

Might be the first time I ever went to the Stadium and not have anyone shout out my Expos hat. Oh well. It was fucking cold.

  15. Classic Yankees game, Rodon sucked, shut down by good pitching followed by a fake comeback.

  16. Love how Peraza hit a HR his first AB of the year and hasn’t been seen ever since.

  17. Yanks struckout 16 times tonight and yet most of the anger is towards the 22 year old with less than 100 games played. Goldschmidt the “leadoff” hitter went 0-4 with 2k’s..shouldn’t he be getting more anger?

  18. We need to make football a year round sport already. Some of you aren’t cutout for 162 game seasons

  19. Imagine Anthony Volpe with chicken parm and a torpedo bat, he’d be unstoppable

  20. I didn’t get a chance to watch the game—what’s up with all the Domínguez hate? Were his at-bats uneventful, or did something else happen?

  21. How some of you are baseball fans amazes me.

You are all aware we are gonna lose at least 60 more times this season, right?
