Can someone help my dad identify the year of this ticket?
April 2, 2025
I know this is a long shot. But my dad found this ticket in a box with his baseball cards and was curious to what year it was. I can’t seem to find any online with this color. He thinks it was the 50’s?

Washington (there’s an ‘on’ in the ticket) maybe?
Redskins tied the giants 24-24 at yankee stadium on Oct 16, 1960
Based on the design and pricing, this ticket was most likely used during the Giants’ late-1950s seasons (circa 1956–1962) at Yankee Stadium. This was the period when a $4.00 admission (including 35¢ federal tax and 18¢ city tax) was standard for a general-admission grandstand seat.
If we assume the “ON” from the ticket is Washington, these are the home games during that period:
* December 2, 1956: Giants won 28–14
* November 29, 1959: Giants won 45–14
* October 16, 1960: Game ended in a 24–24 tie
* November 5, 1961: Giants won 53–0
* October 28, 1962: Giants won 49–34
Given the characteristics of your Dad’s ticket stub—marked as “Game No. D” and for an unreserved grandstand admission priced at $4.00—it is likely from one of these games. The specific game can be pinpointed by cross-referencing the “Game No. D” designation with the Giants’ home game numbering system from that era.
Best guess-the ticket most likely comes from the November 5, 1961 game, considering the pricing and “D” game sequencing style used.
Edit: I mistakenly wrote the 10/28 game. I meant to say the 11/5 game. That was the 4th home game that season and it was against Washington.
Some google AI response seems to think:
The image shows a ticket stub from a 1958 N. Y. Football Giants game at Yankee Stadium. Based on available information, the specific game was played against the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 26, 1958.
This is the back of a 1962 giants ticket. Couldn’t find a picture of the front of it. It matches the back of your ticket. The giants played in Yankees stadium from 1956-1973. I couldn’t find any tickets that used letters as game numbers. Hopefully this can help your search

What about backing it out based on the tax rate?
