we shouldn’t hate Dray. the dude loves Jaren and Ja. he wanted to come to Memphis and even told Kerr/Curry that he had accepted a deal to come join us before the GM came in and offered a bigger deal to keep him. leverage or not I think he absolutely would’ve come here and that’s rare for a star/semi star to want to do that. what he’s saying here is entirely true too. anytime we face a competent team they make it a point to take Jaren out of it through fouls and they often succeed. you can’t have that.
he’s a dirty player and deserves the title, but he’s one of the very few guys in this league who respects Memphis
Patronising cunt
It was clearly part of their game plan to get him to foul, as teams will do in the playoffs. Jimmy Butler baited that sixth foul knowing full well that it would effectively seal the game.
Say what you will about over helping on drives and leaving low-percentage shooters open on the perimeter, but I’d rather a 32% shooter get a clean look from the wing than watch Jaren commit a senseless foul hacking a guy in the paint because he’s trying to get a block.
Honestly, while I can agree, he’s not even one to talk about getting in foul trouble. Last 10 games he average 3.9 fouls per game same as Jaren. Agree with sentiment but he’s not one to talk about getting in foul trouble. Draymond is 10 years older than Jaren and still hasn’t figured out how to stay o it of foul trouble after nearly 13 years in the league. He just fouled out against pelicans on March 28.
The grizzlies need to grow up Ja is a teenage fuck boy and the rest aren’t much better. They’ve matured alittle since Dillion left but they won’t win until they become men instead of boys
He’s not wrong
I hope Draymond doesn’t win DOPY tho
He’s been saying this since Jaren’s rookie year
Shid he’s telling the damn truth! This is one of the reasons we needed him on our team
I think everyone that’s ever watched JJJ has made this same assessment. Sometimes his fouls are bone-headed, like he has momentary lapses. Especially the last few seasons with Ja in and out of the lineup, the team can’t afford to have him on the bench with foul trouble
Jaren should be disappointed that his opponent is pleading for him to be smarter.
Great point. Absolutely spot on. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I know Draymond ass is not talking about taking yourself out of the game with foul trouble
I fucking hate Draymond (hi ya bot)… but this yapping is actually sound advice. Trip should be over this much foul trouble at this stage in his development. He’s too damn good to be in foul trouble all the time. All. The. Time.
They’re both Michigan State I think? I think they’ve know each other a while so Draymond will probably feel he should have credit for Trips ability in some way cos they have a group chat.
Yeah he’s not wrong and he definitely does love JJJ, he mentored him coming up right?
They’re very good friends. Draymond was a big part of getting JJJ to MSU.
That’s… ironic.
Donkey looking ass … But God damnit, he’s got a point.
As much as yall will flame me… this team would benefit SO MUCH if we had unc Dray. I mean, Ja might get concussed but he doesn’t play anyways, right?
He’s not wrong.
If Draymond had signed with us in 2023, I think Jaren would have grown in this area. His size and athleticism, ability on defense, rim to arc offense…he still has a bit to improve and could still be better than he even is now. But yeah…avoid the fouls, play more minutes more consistently, and work on offensive efficiency a bit. He’s getting a Max as soon as possible though.
Agreed, but also like – dude should clean up his fouls so he can help lock down at the end of the game, no?
He’s not wrong but Jaren also gets whistles that others don’t.

He’s not wrong
How many years has this exact same thing been said about JJJ, wrong messenger but correct message
