  1. Damn, I was holding out hope that he had survived. I’ve got a lot of fond memories of his years as an Astro. RIP

  2. Last I saw was he survived but was stuck buried.. this is so sad for all involved:/

  3. I loved how he delivered his fastball and swung his arm up in the air, stepping wide and blowing gas. RIP

  4. As soon as I saw that he was trapped in the rubble and had a broken leg, I knew this was the most likely outcome. Crushing injuries are no joke.

    RIP

  5. RIP Ducky Dotel. Hope you and Jose Lima enjoy a Casa Ole margarita in the afterlife.

  6. Him striking out 4 in an inning during a No Hitter was something. What an awful way to go. RIP

  7. So sad 😰 RIP Octavio! Hopefully he and Jose Lima are hitting that enchilada buffet at the bug Casa Ole upstairs ❤️

  8. Loved watching Dotel pitch for us, he’s my favorite setup man ever. Also was a part of the trade package that brought us Beltran the first time.

Always felt confident when #29 was coming in to pitch.

    RIP 💔

  9. I remember him so well. Absolutely loved him as a player. Completely heartbreaking. I’m so sad to hear this.

  10. RIP He was my First autograph as a kid and immediately started pitching side arm because of it.

  11. Sounded like there were a lot of former MLB players at the event. Nelson Cruz’s sister also died.

  12. I remember when we got him from the Mets and he was starting, he was dazzling- just had a hard time keeping it together past the first turn. Wasn’t thrilled about his move to the bullpen, but he was great at it.
