Very happy with Ross right now.
Keep it up Jays
And now imagine getting the best defensive outfielder in the league back when Varsho returns
And without Varsho
Now start hitting some bombs.
Yes, we all knew the Jays were probably going to have the best defence in baseball this year. Need more offense though which in all fairness should come once Tony picks up and Vladdy gets his timing down.
Release the scamper!
Imagine how insane our infield defense would be if we were able to keep Chapman too
Guerrero-Gimenez-Bichette-Chapman-Kirk
Encouraging. Keep it up and go on a run.
Not surprised based on the eye test.
The only thing less meaningful than small sample size stats are small sample size defensive stats.
I’ve really been enjoying the infield this year. They’re a joy to watch, especially when Clement has third.
DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS or like at least 90-95 games hopefully
The funny part is that MLB does a post every few days on Instagram highlighting the best recent defensive plays and I haven’t seen a Jays play on any of them yet (it’s very possible I missed one). It’s good to hear that our defense is still solid tho, as much as i like seeing a flashy play from time to time.
Fun fact, Vladdy is tied for the team lead with 2 DRS.
Kind of ironic will all the discourse around his defense the past couple weeks
Ok i am older fan i am use to the old school avg, hr, rbi stats being the barometer for how good player is. Trying to keep up with new stats so how do they determine defensive runs saved.
How about Offensive Runs Scored?
We are going to the World Series
We crushed this stat category last year as well. It got us nowhere
That’s wonderful. We scored 5 runs against the Mets in 3 games but I’m glad we’re playing good defence. This team needs to start hitting for power or it’ll be another long season.
I don’t know how far this 2025 version of the Jays can go, but I have to say, if the core that we build around is Vladdy, Bo, Gimenez, Santander, Varsho, Kirk, and a couple of the young guys that prove out, I feel pretty great about the next few seasons.
We’ll need to add some more HR-hitting power and get younger on the rotation (please get and stay healthy, Manoah and Ricky T), but we’re in a good spot.
Going for that 3rd straight team gold glove award
And we arenβt started Gimenez todayβ¦
Cool. Now how do we compare with them in HR?
And that’s without the best outfielder in the game, who’s coming back soon.
Need to wake up the bats consistently. We hit straight ball very good.
Ah yes. League leaders in DRS. We’re so back π
Barring a long list of injuries, this was never not going to be the case.
The problem is that, even with all of that defence, they don’t project to be a serious contender.

Can we DRS our way to the World Series?
