League sources expect there to be discussions about a possible reunion with Tim Connelly, the former Nuggets general manager who drafted Jokić and whose departure to the Minnesota Timberwolves in May 2022 led to Booth’s promotion from his assistant general manager role.
While Connelly has an opt-out in his contract for this summer, it’s widely believed that Timberwolves owners Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore will do what it takes to retain him. League sources say Connelly’s right-hand man in Minnesota, general manager Matt Lloyd, is expected to receive consideration for the Nuggets job as well.

The Kroenke’s are cheap, I’m not worried about it
Nuggets owners are known to be one of the most cheapest fucks in sports, there’s no way they’ll get him back.
“We tore down everything you built? Wanna come do it again?”
I think the more likely reunion is Malone to the Wolves.
As much as the Kroenke’s have a history of being cheap, they’re starting to invest in Arsenal with the talent and success they have now. It’s possible they do the same with the Nuggets.
Tim has ownership equity here. I don’t expect him to leave anytime soon.
I think its all bs
you dont need to make reddit posts Tim.
Firing Malone and wanting Connely back lol why the f would tim want to go back to that when they blindsided his guy like that? No class, no balls.
Non story😄
A storyline that needs to be followed is a reunion in MN between Connelly and Malone. Connelly unless blown away by big $, will almost certainly be retained. If Finchy doesn’t get the job done this season, you will be hearing whispers about Malone guaranteed 100%.
They fired Malone. He’s not going back.
Even with Jokic, Minnesota is more appealing than Denver as a situation right now.
I don’t think Ant and Malone would vibe
A reunion to a team that let him walk to go make double the salary in Minnesota? Tim would have to be smoking crack to go back to Denver
We doubled Tim’s salary and he was courted by the two guys who are now the owners of the franchise. Why would you walk away from that considering one of the leagues most recently marketed stars is YOUR guy Ant Man?
I want the Connelly Jokic reunion here in Sota
Thinking on it, it’s kind of weird that the Wolves hired two good GMs back to back.
Makes no sense that he would want to go back tbh – if money helped lure him away why tf would the Kroenkes all of a sudden be willing to outbid Lore-Rod. If Glen had won arbitration maybe. Wolves are still on the rise and at this point we’re kinda in a similar spot Denver was in the years leading up to their title run – a playoff team still going through the bumps and bruises it takes to get it done. Even with all the difficult roster decisions the Wolves need to make this offseason we’re still in much better shape than Denver going forward imo. Joker is elite but I’d personally rather be building around a 23yo superstar than a 30yo superstar.
Ultimately this probably just leads to TC getting some more money from us to stay. Not worried about this at this point.
Isn’t he already one of the few (only) GMs with an ownership stake? How much more can they offer him?
I wouldn’t be opposed for him to have a reunion with Malone if the postseason doesn’t go well.
Seen this coming
Honestly Tim Connelly has done a pretty mediocre job imo. He over paid by a lot on the gobert trade. Rudy is not a good fit at all offensively with our star player who admits he can’t throw lobs. He also trades a good amount to get rob dillingham which is looking like a mediocre move at best. The move that saved his resume with the wolves was the HR that was the DLO trade.
If anything, joker will be coming here to join Tim
If TC leaves, i will consider him a failure as a GM for his stint here. You don’t give away 6 total frp and trade away your franchise all star unless it results in a championship/finals appearance. Getting your ass kicked in the WCF is not good enough. He would be leaving us in a worse position than he did, if he left after this year.
I could do the trades he did with what he has to work with.
I would then want Gerson back tbh.
