Having gone back to watch Super Bowl 57 after the win in Super Bowl 59. Jalen played out of his mind. Besides the fumble, he played a perfect game and basically carried the team on his back in the second half. Honestly believe it was one of his best games as a pro

It is known
Yeah this has been discussed many times and as a team we’ve since improved and won the ultimate prize in football.
His 3 best games are probably 57, 59 and the nfccg
It’s insane that people still blame the overall loss on that fumble.
Dude almost won MVP on the losing side!
Had they won it would be regarded as a top 5 game by a qb. If you enjoy the sport you can still admit it was a great game but all any talking heads care about is who won
Hurts played better in SB 57 than he did in SB 59 IMO; he had a hell of a game outside of one play. He was the primary reason why the Eagles had a chance to win that league championship game a little more than 2 years ago.
I bought a Hurts midnight green jersey with SB 57 patch on it after the game due to his performance in that game. Sometimes great performances don’t result in wins, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be appreciated.
It was his best game as a pro full stop. My thoughts after that game were “man I wanted that one, but it’s not a matter of if, but when jalen wins us a Super Bowl”. Always happy to be correct.
Hurts is certified clutch at this point
I’ll say this much
For the entertainment value of the nfl a lame penalty ending this game and not the ball in his hands is a horrible trade off
The way he played that Sunday would have been absolutely electric if he got a shot a evening up the game for OT or a last second win
If it came down the last plate and we win or lose, it’s the best game in nfl history no question
Easily his best game as an Eagle, which makes the fumble sting that much more. Played pretty much perfect besides that one back breaker.
Interesting tidbit
From my calculations, in Super Bowl history, there have only been 6 times where the winning quarterback was definitively outplayed by the losing teams quarterback
Twice with the Broncos having an aging All-Timer having an absolutely awful game and being outplayed by a young stud (Elway – 12/22 123 yards and 1 int vs Favre – 25-42 256 yards 3 touchdowns 1 int, and Manning – 13/23 141 yards 1 int vs Newton – 18/41 265 yards 1 int)
Twice by Roethlisberger (BR – 9/21 123 yards 2 int vs Hasselbeck 26/49 273 yards 1 td 1 int, BR – 21/30 256 yards 1 td 1 int vs Warner 31/43 377 yards 3 td 1 int)
And Twice involving the Eagles (Foles 28/43 373 yards 3 td 1 int vs Brady 28/48 505 yards 3 td 0 int, before you say anything consider Brady was an inch away from setting the single game passing record, and Hurts – 27/38 304 yards 1 td+3 rushing td vs Mahomes 21/27 182 yards 3 td 0 int)
And people still have the audacity to say that the lone mistake he had in the 2nd quarter was the only reason why they lost
Might be one of his best games. If they win he would have been the mvp hands down.
However, they lost by 8 and he fumbled 6 away, so I really doubt he looks back at that game in a good light. He’s QB1 though and he learned from the experience. Therefore, the best is yet to come.
He’d be a 2 time SBMVP if not for the imbecile who didn’t water the grass right.
