For starters, Scott Brooks was ecstatic on finally coaching the Lakers. I did not know he had always wanted to. This man also took the Thunder trio to the finals and is a huge hiring as an assistant to mentor JJ

  1. Honestly so much was put into who would the experienced coaching staff be around JJ be when JJ got the job. Scott Brooks was and has been an excellent hire and Nate McMillan was also a great hire. Honestly every assistant we brought in were great hires and it’s paid off big time.

  2. Absolutely.

But I also am already tired of the “Scott Brooks was the secret sauce” posts once he leaves and JJ has a hint of regression

  3. I remember all the podscum not only shitting on Reddick but crapped all over McMillian and Brooks as well. Most of these fools repeat the same talking points and have very little insight into basketball.

  4. Give him his flowers, meteor showers, find me here after hours…Lakers in ✋️

  5. Uc Irvines own! I was happy we added him to the staff he has done a good job too

  6. What has impressed me is Scott’s willingness to learn new things and adapt to the evolution of the NBA.

Some of these guys get really stuck in their ways… not going to mention names. But Scott has shown he’s an evolved thinker, and a great mentor to JJ.

  7. Credit to all of JJ’s staff. In his first year as head coach, we have a better record than Darvin ever had with us.

  8. This is the real guy they should have gotten as a Westbrook whisperer instead of Darvin Ham. But luckily they didn’t otherwise they probably would have sacked him before this season.

  9. Brooks on Rui when they were in Washington earlier this year: “Should’ve played like that when I had him here!”

  10. The Braintrust has been fantastic. Especially the pivot after the trade to completely change the ethos of the team overnight.

  11. Him and Coach McMillan! I was so excited when it was announced that they were going to be part of the coaching staff.

  12. JJ has put together an amazing coaching staff, props to him, it really looks like all the stuff that was said by JJ and Rob before the season started about JJ being here to set up a culture is all true.

  13. If you pay attention to the bench he is constantly fist pumping on nearly every Laker basket lmao.

It deserves to be motion captured and put in 2K

  14. I need him to say: “I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don’t have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.”

  15. First of all, fuck JT Orr (and Jayson Tatum for being a JT and for other obvious reasons). second of all, thank you coaching staff.

  16. How can we give him credit if we don’t know his contribution? Maybe everyone hates him. Maybe he does nothing. Maybe all of his ideas have been rejected. How would we know?

  17. Nate and Scott have no doubt been big time for us. I know Scott specifically knows how to handle elite offensive players.
