After defeating the Mavs in Thursday night’s game, the Lakers flew back home.

However, Luka Dončić did not.

Less than 24 hours after an emotionally draining, yet spectacular performance, Dončić stayed in Dallas to host local youth basketball players and fans at a Luka 4 sneaker release event at DICK’S Sporting Goods.

During the event, Dončić answered questions, met with local area youth basketball teams, and even checked out a few lucky fans’ Luka 4 purchases at the register.

He could have said no. He could have said he was too tired. He could have done the event in LA…

He showed up. Big character and culture move 🔥📈

    He may be in LA, but Dallas will always be his home.

  6. Can any of us see a world if Cuban decides to take the reigns back of the team again and fire Dumont and Harrison that Luka can resign with Dallas again once he’s a free agent again or am I delusional?!

  10. That speaks volumes. May be delusion on my end but I think if Nico is fired there is a chance for reunification down the road. Depends how much he hates ownership too

  12. Unfortunately the mavs do not feel the same way about luka…. Here we are right now stuck with street clothes and basketball purgatory for years to come.

  13. I was saving up for the Luka 4 (it would’ve been only the second Jordan shoe I ever had), but now that he no longer plays for the Mavs I guess I’d have to save up for either Kyrie’s or KT’s

  22. This an understated issue with the trade, young fans are way more player centric and young Mavs fans love/idolize Luka- did Nico turn a large % of Gen Alpha Mavs fans into Lakers fans?

  23. Makes sense. Nico and ownership aren’t about this type of culture. They don’t believe in giving to the community, the only belief culture they have is taking as much as they can FROM the community

  26. I was finally able to move on from the trade a week ago. Now I am angry again. We lost Luka who loves Dallas while Nico can’t even show his face or sit on the Mavs’ court. Fuck Nico.
