Another Kentucky Basketball player has announced their intentions for the 2025-26 season. It is some more good news for the BBN on this Saturday.

According to Joe Tipton of On3, 6’10 forward Brandon Garrison, will return to Kentucky for his junior season.

In his first season in Lexington, Garrison averaged about 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game while shooting 51 percent from the floor and 30 percent from three.

Garrison had some bright spots this past season at Kentucky. He had a 10 point, 9 rebound performance in Seattle against Gonzaga. He also had a big performance in Kentucky’s win at Oklahoma, where he finished with 12 points, 2 blocks and 3 steals.

Garrison expanded his offensive game in his first season under Mark Pope as well. As a freshman at Oklahoma State, Garrison didn’t attempt a three-pointer, but made 12 of 40 three-point attempts this past season at Kentucky. A solid clip for a guy that just started to shoot them this season.

When Garrison was brought in, it was thought he could potentially be a multi-year player for the Wildcats, but with several high profile front-court additions through the transfer portal this offseason the question loomed large if he would return. Now we have an official answer.

Garrison is expected to be a key contributor next season, but there are several big men in the rotation that will help push Garrison. How will he respond? We will have to wait and find out, but you have to love this sign of not backing down from the competition. Also with his return, Coach Pope and his staff have one of the deeper rotations in the sport when it comes to the front-court.

Going to be exciting to see how it all shapes out come the first game in November.
