  1. Take the L dunk. Game winners are as iconic as it gets and that one was insane

  2. How about a memory with Clyde walking onto the court. A memory with the Knicks winning a championship.

  3. Back in the day when I had Knick seasons (1987-1999) I used to trade tickets with someone in Chicago. We would go to Chicago for a Knicks game and vice versa. In Chicago the merch shop was a temple to Jordan. After leafing through all the Jordan posters i asked the shop worker why they didn’t have the Starks dunk. He became very uncomfortable. The Chicago fans were quite tolerant of 2 guys in Knick jerseys. I did the same think with Cub tickets. Cub fans were far less tolerant of Met fans.

edit: Back in 1987 those seats cost $17.50 in section 311 (you need to look at the old seating chart)

  4. If you put the in context the answer is clear—LJ’s 4-point play is EASILY a bigger play all-time.

  5. I saw both on tv live but only one of them was hung above my bed for my entire childhood. The Dunk, always.

  6. Starks was my all time fav player. I love the dunk. But it didn’t win us a series. We lost that series. The 4 point play was crucial to winning the 1999 ECF. I gotta go w that one.

  7. John Starks is the best basketball player of all time. I have to go with the dunk

  8. 4 point play. The NBC production was incredible when it cut away to the stadium shot. Still give me the feels when I watch it.

  9. Last year or Linsanity. I grew up with the 90s knicks but by either Hakeem or Jordan it brings up sad memories. At least Lin was a feel good story because since when did home crowds of other teams chant for a knick player? And last years Knicks went out fighting until they had no one left. Which if youre ever going to get eliminated, thats probably the best way evet.

  10. I mostly have scared trauma.

Missed finger rolled. Multiple missed layups with self rebounds. That damn missed corner 3.

    Fuck it hurts

  11. I had a poster of the Dunk on my wall 2 days after the game. They had them at Modell’s right away.

  12. In the post-Willis game 7 world, in terms of moments, for me it’s: 1) the Starks dunk. 2) Allan Houston beating the Heat and 3) The (somewhat bogus) 4 point play. In terms of moments of triumph, Patrick’s put back dunk over the Pacers or even the wrong way spin 3 pointer over the Celtics. In terms of dominance, Bernard’s game 5 against the Pistons.
