Some people think it’s silly, but these guys need to have fun again. Maybe they’re missing that from the daycare pouring water and club Stubby after a game. They look like they’re dragging on that field right now. They can’t even get a little fire from Rob over an ump. He just sat there like a statue.
I’d rather see this team struggle in April and May and turn it on in the 2nd half then have what we did last year. The big question is if we will turn it on.

There’s a lot of people here who don’t understand there’s a gigantic middle ground between believing this team is perfect and believing this team is mediocre so they should blow it up and rebuild. For some reason it’s hard for people to be disappointed they haven’t won a WS but also think this team is still talented enough to contend.
It’s made it impossible to say anything remotely positive without someone pretending you’re excusing everything thats gone wrong the last 3 years. That’s just made everything even more miserable here than normal.
I know large portion of this sub probably doesn’t care but I just have to say it for my own sanity. If the only outcome that will make you happy is the WS, this will be a miserable sport to watch. If every loss, bad loss, or bad play makes you rage and be demeaning to others, why watch baseball? I won’t pretend the team is playing well. They’re obviously a little hard to watch right now at times. Is there not a way to experience those frustrations without becoming whatever those game day threads are becoming? I know I’m not the only one that feels this way as another member said it the other day, this place has become very uninviting. It has seemed to get worse every season, honestly.

Honestly I thought Taijuan was pretty decent last night and still think he’s looking like a solid SP6 (SP7 once Painter arrives). Obviously contract still stinks but he’s looking like decent depth.
The guy in this thread saying that this subreddit has become “uninviting” is the same guy that argues every positive take during game threads. So uh, yeah, probably not the best representative for what he’s looking for.
