Just hope the ping pong balls bounce our way. But so glad the seasons over lol
Bobby Marks is saying on his Twitter page (and made a bet with a user for a donation to his favorite charity) that the Nets won’t be making all 5 picks.
I hope this means 26 and 27 are going to be packaged for a pick in the teens (I have my eye on Minnesota at 17), or some combination of picks will be moved for a 2026 FRP.
1. Yes they should be able to considering the amount of roster spots that might be open plus the G-League 2. We can use our cap space to either add a solid player who doesn’t really affect our W/L record much if at all, like a Tyus Jones for example or we can absorb bigger expirings in dumps or sign and trades 3. It’s all going to depend on price but I’d like to see them back at the very least 4. If there’s a great offer on the table for either, you take, otherwise keep them as they’re good players on very reasonable contracts
I think we only draft 3 people on draft night and ship two of the picks out to later dates or use them to trade up
“Can the roster sustain 4 firsts?”
They’ve got like 4 guys under contract, I think it’ll be fine lol
Obviously there was endless discussion this year about the tank (did we do it right, did we blow it, was it worth sweating every game when the ping pong balls would determine our fate anyway, etc..). But, I truly believe next year is the year to bottom out. I’m sure Jordi and Marks aren’t crazy about the idea of losing 60 games next year, but if we move 2 (or 3) of Cam J, Clax, DLo, and run a lineup of our first pick in this draft, another rookie, Cam T, Sharpe, and maybe even a 3rd rookie, while adding another first, or two, and a young player or two, that’d be truly setting ourselves up for a bright future.
I would trade Clax and Cam for first rounders, and use free agent money to sign people on 1-2 year deals that can be traded for first rounders.
My expectation for salary dumps is that we’ll take on multi-year deals for players who are good roleplayers just overpaid or need to be dumped. Otherwise we’ll take on one year salary dumps.
I think the cap space is going to be the best asset along with the lotto pick of course. With teams looking to get under the punitive cap, I think we could get some really enticing offers for teams looking to reset.
Does the “tradeable picks” include this year’s picks or no, bc i swore we had more than 13 firsts
Year 0 of the rebuilding is over. Now begins year one with actual homegrown talent.
We got our coach, which is important. Now we need to get some lucky ping pong balls.
