Julius Randle feels this is the first time in his career he has something to play for in the Playoffs

  1. I’m assuming it’s because the only other playoff run where he was healthy was in 2021, where he was the first option on an overachieving Knicks team that got exposed in the playoffs. I don’t think he means it as a knock to the Knicks teams these past two seasons, but rather that he knew he couldn’t really “play for something” when injured.

  2. I mean listen, he didn’t play with jb in the playoffs he was hurt, him and rj didn’t have a title shot. The wolves have a small chance but ant is easily the best player Randle has played with since what, Kobe?

  3. Because he was unhealthy for the last 2 and the one before that he probably didn’t believe the team could make a title run. Mostly a non story.

  4. The key word here is “chance.” He is not throwing shade at the Knicks. He was never healthy for the Knicks when with JB, so he probably felt like he never had a chance to give it his all for the city in the playoffs.

  5. Not wrong. We got as far as we deserved to the only year he was healthy and good.

  6. That’s a pretty terrible way to paraphrase the actual quote from the reporter. He’s happy to be healthy enough to compete to his best ability and try to win a chip. I don’t read it as him saying he hasn’t been on contenders before.

  7. Good for him man, as many said he was injured most of the times we went. Fans gave a lot of shit, if him and divo win id be happy

  8. Context matters. This is his first playoff run where he’s actually fully fit and not playing through injuries since 2021. In 2021 it was his first time in playoffs, so he was inexperienced on top of playing with the most unbalanced roster of any playoff team in that period. Given that now he’ll have both fitness and experience on his side, I get what he means.

  9. Duh. He’s never been on a tea, that could win it. I understand his optimism watching a guy like Ant every night

  10. He’s not wrong. He wasn’t part of the team last season. Before that we had 0 chance

  11. We truly got robbed of our chance to see Juju and the Nova Knicks.

  12. I am positive that the outcome of their last postseason were a whole lot different if he was healthy.
