You have successful teams like Memphis and Denver who are firing their very good coaches because they lost the locker room. Meanwhile our perpetual loser head coach is being retained because of complacent and cheap ownership. You don't hate Gayle Benson enough

This ownership is so out of touch with their own team and the modern NBA. This really feels like the end of the NBA in New Orleans
He should’ve been fired after a 49 win season… yet here we are. This is dumb.

Jenkins lost ownership support after last year when they took over the hiring of his assistants. He didn’t get fired because he lost the locker room.

I have been more supportive of WG. I think he did a good job helping build the culture connect with players and get them to play hard. I never thought he was the worst coach in the league or crapped on him like some people did.
As the season went down the tank I felt a fresh start was needed and a new voice was needed to start the 25-26 season. With the injuries and back and forth about Zion the team needs a reset, fresh voices and fresh faces. The ownership saddled DG with Gentry and now Dumars with WG.
Ownership needs to clean house move off WG move off of Zion and just reset with new faces and new voices. By keeping WG and Zion around the weight isn’t lifted it is just paused till one negative thing happens and everything will feel like it is crashing down again
If the players want him gone, you have to make a change. It’s just crazy that the organization is this hung up on Willie for whatever reason. Do they really love him this much or are they trying to be cheap and not wanting to be paying someone no longer working for the team?
Every new bit of info just vindicates my support of Griff. I think he 100% would’ve listened to the players in this regard and Shamit has said that Griff apparently wanted a coaching change. It makes me think the relationship between Griff and the players isn’t all that bad. He would’ve done right by the players.
For example, when it came to the medical side after the 22-23 season, the players wanted a change. Like the team didn’t have a physical therapist on the roster apparently. Yet Griffin listened. He put Trajan in charge of revamping the medical side as the players requested. It apparently paid off in 23-24 when the team had one of its healthier seasons especially with Zion until 2 minutes left in a play-in game. Now why the injuries got so bad this year, who knows. I’m hoping this season was an outlier in that regard.
It’s frustrating. I’ve never been more pissed off as a fan of this team. I wouldn’t say Griff was a great FO guy, but he was at least competent & I think gave a fuck. I can’t say the same about ownership. Like sure maybe they do care, but don’t care enough, are cheap, and incompetent. Plus it makes me think Dumars just won’t have the power to even do his job, for better or worse, if they no longer allowed Griff to do what he felt was necessary.

so that was it, right? we‘re keeping WG while no player wants to play under him anymore, fan interest feels like it‘s at an all time low and Dumars is gonna make our draft pick this offseason. this draft would’ve been the perfect opportunity to revamp the whole organization, but instead Gayle decides to keep being the cheapest team in the league. if we really want to keep doing the same bs we are rn they might aswell relocate us to Seattle
Gayle must have come to a point where they thought retaining Dennis Allen would not only further lose the locker room but ruin season ticket sales.
Between this, never going into the luxury tax, and settling for how shitty the Blender is, she literally must not care at all at improving the business of this team
