Listened to Bill Simmons talking about how the Wolves fans need to rattle Luka and it made me wonder if he has seen a Euroleague basketball game

   It’s shit like that, when he doesn’t get fact checked or called out on, like Zach Lowe, who we all love and respect, can’t say “wait a minute bill, that trade was literally 105 years ago, all the video footage we have of Ruth is him being a fatass that hit a ball with a stick very far, that drank and smoke and womanized his way into our hearts, and you’re calling him a better athlete than a man who plays professional BASKETBALL?”

11. He doesn’t want wolves fans to rattle Luka just because, he wants to see the refs thinking he’s talking to them, so he gets a technical and gets ejected.

    He mentioned maturity in his comments. That made it seem like Luka will do something to get ejected, not that it will actually upset him.

    They want a ref game, not a game based on skill. That’s my interpretation.

12. European sports fans are a different thing entirely. American fans pale in comparison to the crowd atmosphere and noise.

13. As a European, the one sports thing i’m most thankful for is that our football/soccer fan culture transfered to Basketball.

    Helps that we mainly have clubs and not franchises, meaning there is a Basketball, Football, Volleyball etc sports team under the umbrella of one club.

    Meaning, there’s a Barcelona in football, and a Barcelona in Basketball. Fans who support the football team, even if they don’t give a fuck about Basketball, will support the team on every sport, because they support the team as a whole

14. There is a story Dragic tells about Luka where, before the Eurocup final, Dragic was sharing a room with him and couldn’t sleep because of how nervous he was for the game. Looked over and Luka was dead asleep, like it was just another day.

    Luka is built differently; he’s a killer.

15. Right but Luka has repeatedly gotten into trouble — technicals, ejections, etc. — for letting his emotions get the best of him, including at critical moments in the postseason. This is not a bad take by Bill (aside from absurdly endorsing shenanigans that hurt the game of basketball) and your response does nothing to contest it.

19. Simmons didn’t say that fans should heckle Luka, he said that wolves players should try to get him bitching with the refs, which is when he get nervous and loses focus.
