What should the Minnesota Vikings draft philosophy be with a win-now roster?

5. Here’s one possible draft philosophy for a team with very few draft picks. The Vikings should draft really solid players that can easily start if needed and not quite so much draft guys with low floors and high ceilings based on relative athletic scores. Some teams love to gamble on superstar potential and hope their coaches can turn raw balls of clay with high RAS ratings into super productive players. But those players are often gone in three years when they don’t show the natural football instincts needed to be reliable NFL players. For every Danielle Hunter there are a lot of completely wasted draft picks. For example, if the Vikings had say ten picks maybe I’d say take a swing at a guy like Nick Emmanwori that has some bust potential. I just don’t think this is the year for taking that chance.

16. I printed out the 2025 NFL Draft prospects rankings in January. Things are too mirky now to trust adjusted/updated rankings, because now everything is based off RAS scores and combine #'s.

17. Zabel is worth 5 players. The guy can play up & down the line in every position & at a high level. He has the most value by far.

18. A agree with Chip…."on paper." Walking wounded, new personalities, and a new system for the new players. I'll take the over on 8.5, but 9 or 10 wins is probably the ceiling this year. I don't get the "built to win" phrase Judd keeps dancing on.

I dont know they need to draft a corner at 24 like kevin with the qb rehab flores has done a similar job with his corners Shaq Murphy gilmore now rodgers flores can't help himself when blitzing it would'nt surprise me if Flores wants Grant for Harmon if one of them is still on the board and flores did miss out on the DT Murphy in the draft last year.
