Mark Vientos hit a solo home run, his first of the season, as the Mets defeated the Cardinals 4-1. Francisco Lindor went 3-for-4 with a run batted in and Edwin Diaz got the save as New York improved to 12-7 on the season.

  5. What's a guy named Soto doing in this lineup? He should be Pete and the others' personal assistant…

    0-for-8 with 4 strikeouts in the last two games. Thanks for adding another reinforcement to Cohen's lineup.

  6. I wonder if Diaz has a clause in his contract that says he can't record a save without allowing a leadoff walk. Sugar sure makes life interesting this year.

    Also nice to see Vientos get off the snide and hit his first homer, and some of the guys in the lower part of the order getting big hits. Nice win tonight… ⚾

  24. When this offense starts rolling, this team can be real good…never expected this from the pitching staff. Top to bottom the Mets as an organization look so competent…just not used to this😁
