On April 18, 2001, the Kings forced overtime against the Detroit Red Wings after trailing 3-0 in the third period of Game 4. Eric Belanger then caused a "Frenzy on Figueroa" when he scored the game-winning goal in overtime in a 4-3 win at STAPLES Center.

Ah the season where my hatred for the Avs started
I was there and all the bitchin’ at the home games that series from Red Wings fans as they left were great as their were multiple comebacks!
As someone who’s watched this team since the 70’s, this was one of the greatest playoff games in our history. Being a Kings fans was miserable for long stretches of time. Our first great playoff game was the Miracle on Manchester, but it did not end in a Stanley Cup. We had the Gretzky years, but it will be remembered for McSorleys stick. This was a great playoff run with this game and Deadmarsh’s OT winner 2 games later to win the series. Of course we had the 2 cup wins with loads of great games. Looking forward to our next big playoff win. Let’s get that cup again!
My stupid ass went to bed halfway thru the 3rd.. I was in the navy at the time and had to be up early cuz my ship was getting underway the next morning.. checked the scores in the morning and was dumbfounded..
