  7. I’m not shocked. The team loves him in the room, and it provides an implied threat that if a game gets out of hand something will happen the next night.

  9. I would definitely get him some ice time. This is psychological warfare and the Leafs just fired the first shot. Sens will be fully aware he’s been called up.

  32. This is a savvy strategy to neutralize George Parros. If there’s anyone who can carry on the playoff tradition of getting harshly suspended for the remainder of the series for a questionable play that our opponent could do far worse and injure a good player but not even get 2 minutes for, it’s Reaves.

  34. He’s the perfect Black Ace for these playoffs. Big time energy guy in the locker room, will practice hard and have plenty of wisdom to share with the more inexperienced players. Plus, the boys love him. Exactly who you want to have around the team for a run.

  37. Useless call-up. “Great locker-room guy” is nonsense because the second he gets on the ice he’ll ruin all the locker room goodwill by playing like shit and allowing the other team into the game. The guy just can not play hockey anymore.

  38. Are they allowed to have more than 23 in the playoffs? I thought it was max 23. Presumably with Kampf, McCabe, OEL, and Pacioretty all no longer injured, Mermis goes down and with the 2 goalies they’re at 23. Reaves would be 24 unless one of those guys isn’t activated. Unless I’m wrong.

    Even if he weren’t called up, he’d be good to have in the locker room.

  40. I went to a Marlies game. Didn’t realize he was there until the 3rd period. Invisible up until then. If he was getting a regular shift, he didn’t do anything of note.

  43. Good move. Every team needs an enforcer in case Tkachuk wants to try to injure Mathew, Marner, or Nylander

  46. Love this and not because I think they’d need him to “go after Brady” but if you’re going to go on a deep playoff run (and I believe they are), you’re going to need reinforcements and some grit and depth on the 4th line for a game or two.
