You might be surprised to hear that Jeremy Pena is already sporting a .9 WAR this season despite what his batting statistics say. Sure, most of that has been due to his aggressive baserunning and phenomenal glove. However, if you take a closer look he has been steadily improving in important categories year over year in hitting. Most notably he is striking out much less, chasing far fewer pitches out of the zone, and doing a much better job at getting the barrel to the ball. I’m not saying he is gonna be a .300 hitter maybe not even a .270 hitter this season, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up slashing .250/.340 with an ops close to .800. Therefore , I think he is bound to get hot at the plate very soon

Yeah, he is one of the most unluckiest hitters in baseball right now. Hitting the ball hard, just finding gloves all the time. Give it enough time and he will rake
If he can drop the strikeouts and get a few more walks he could be an all star.
He is, unfortunately, one of the most unlucky players to start the 2025 season. His XBA is at .303, and his HardHit% is at 50.8. All the ingredients to be a really good hitter just need a little luck.
Need to extend him and HB. Might be too late for HB though.
“Peaked? Peaked r/Astros, let me tell you something, I haven’t even begun to peak, and when I do peak you’ll know because I’m gonna peak so hard that everybody in Houston is gonna feel it.”
These are very very good numbers
Great numbers for him.
Also why I think the “Altuve sucks at second” is so overrated. The amount of variance in the defensive stats year over year means the stats suck.
