LANDRY FIELD HAS BEEN FIRED

  1. This is the most surprising move ever. It’s funny though the Ressler’s fired Schlenck so they can have their way with Landry just to fire him…

  2. The fact they didn’t fire the coach tells me Trae likes what Quin is doing and they’ll continue to try to make moves for Trae to succeed here

  3. uhhh ?? This is surprising.. what does this mean for Trae ? For anybody ?? He finally developed a movement and he’s out the door ? I’m so confused

  4. Ownership probably wants to move in another direction and Landry pushed back…

Hmm. Where have we heard this one before (RIP Schlenk)

  5. Dammit I liked the moves he’d been making. I thought we were headed in the right direction.

  6. Woah lmao this feels totally left field especially after how exit interviews went

  7. This seems odd so fully expecting Ressler’s son to be the new GM. Or maybe Korver is getting the bump.

All I know is whoever is responsible for that. Dyson Daniels trade should be in charge

  8. Why even have him do the press conference the other day? This is such an unserious franchise

  9. ….this kinda makes a Zion move more likely. Or any sort of bigger trade. Landry was the type of GM to just keep core and build forward

  10. Bro why would we do this? He was the first GM with a clear vision for our team in so long

  11. genuinely quite odd. He was doing about as well as you could hope for in trying to recover from the calamitous Murray trade.

  12. This seems dumb. Landry cooked with the Dyson trade. He can’t help that we got injured.

  13. This is gonna end up being something stupid like Ressler told him to go trade for Michael Porter Jr or somebody like that and Fields didn’t want to do it.

  14. Finally some stability and organization direction…and this happens. What did I do to deserve this

  15. I gotta be honest I thought landry was doing really well, not really his fault about the griffin/bufkin picks not working out but I feel like he’s done far more good than bad, he was far better than schlenk IMO

  16. Just very weird. The team objectively improved and the team got younger, the future of the cap sheet improved and the number of draft picks in the future improved. Just really bizarre.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Landry & Ressler had a disagreement on the next steps (completely spitballing but maybe Landry was adamant on trading Trae and really starting fresh and the resslers are absolutely not ok with that?)

  17. Honestly this is why we’ll never win. The best teams in basketball have continuity. You can’t cycle through coaches in GMs every couple years

  18. I really hope there was a plan behind this decision and not one of those moves you make to look like you’re doing something.

  19. What the fuck?? Why lol our last offseason couldn’t have been better 😭

  20. I’m actually shocked. I felt like Dyson was the biggest win of the season (Luka trade aside, that one is an anomaly nobody’s been able to explain), and our young core is solid. What exactly was Landry doing wrong? Is he really just a scapegoat for being mid for several years? We finally had some direction under him and Quinn.

  21. Completely rudderless organization with ownership that would be lambasted in the media in a larger market. Absolute shit show.

  22. This hasn’t been talked about on this sub and not even on Brads podcast, but Trae himself said this year was a failure. Imagine that. He talked about next year being more what he looks forward to because he can focus on winning. And maybe the hawks went to Trae after the exit interviews about extending and he said he wasn’t satisfied with Landry or with the team. Either way, next year is super important. This is just another indicator of how important it is. For the Trae would never leave crowd, it’s all or nothing this year. And the guy taking over was the money/cap guy in GS? So no background in scouting. But I guess Tony’s son is here for that.

  23. I don’t understand this one bit. It finally seemed like the Hawks had a plan and were sticking to it. The NBA desperately needs to stop with the rampant hiring, firing, trading, and player movement.

It’s almost as bad as College football, like don’t get attached to players cause they’ll be gone in a couple years.

  24. Regardless if the reasons for this move are legit or not, it’s just really bad optics.

It also confirms that the FO is handicapped by a meddling owner.

Could anyone blame Trae for wanting out from this mess???

  25. As long as the Resslers are in charge this organization will never amount to anything it’s as simple as that
