  1. I think that the blues played a pretty good game tonight. Aside from a few costly mistakes. The problem is winnipeg is bigger, stronger, and faster than us. I think Binnington has been playing better than Helle but it doesn’t matter if your offense can’t get past the jorts defense in the 3rd period.

Uh also insanely encouraged by sunngerud’s goal after the catastrophe that resulted in the first goal. Being able to stay in it and get that goal back takes some serious resolve. This kid has potential to be a serious threat. They gonna know his name next year

  2. This series ain’t over. This Winnipeg team looks beatable. If it isn’t the Blues this round, it will be either Colorado or Dallas next round. I still see a path, a very doable path for the Blues to force game 7. Then it’s anybody’s series. Obviously, the Blues absolutely must win Game 3. The Blues better not be scared. Time to dust yourself off and kick some ass Thursday in St. Louis! LGB!!!!!

  3. We are one year early. Teams going to get a lot better with time and next year is going to be fun. I guarantee it. We will not be a bubble team and will win many many games. Playoffs will be locked up early and we can for the first time in awhile have a nice smooth ride.

  4. To use our past trauma as a positive, about a decade ago we watched the Blues go up 2-0 on Chicago and proceed to lose that series. Anything can happen

  5. Obviously very excited for Bolduc and Snugg’s futures here. But we also better give Broberg a fat contract. Not flashy but man he plays with such poise for his age and can get a rough situation in our zone under control very reliably

  6. We have only beaten a team while down 2-0 in a series once out of 18 times…

    Blues in 7

  7. This is a young team that was looking at tee times a few weeks ago. The future is bright.

I’m not throwing in the towel yet. The jets are tough, but we’ve hung with them. Taking 4 from them is going to be difficult and if we don’t, the west will owe us.

  8. Need Holloway back to have more than one line with some offense. Thought we played great defensively and had one major fuck up that Certified Blues Killer Kyle Connor capitalized on. Winning is better in front of the home crowd anyway

  9. Man that 12 game win streak really spoiled a lot of you.

This Winnipeg team was the best team in the league all year by a decent margin. And they were especially deadly at home.

So, after two incredibly close games on the road as an 8th seed against the president’s trophy winner, I’m very optimistic with what I’m seeing. Sure, we might not win the series, but the young talent and core is there to see. Shed some of these bad contracts in the next year or so and this team looks legit.

Also it’s first to win 4, not 2. Let’s go Blues.

  10. On the positive side this is great experience for the young guys, and Binnington has been fantastic.

  11. It really sucks that Parayko is having a rough playoff showing after his career year. (I assume because of his injury.)

  12. Man this thread is full of whiney bitches tonight.

It was a great game, and close.

We’re playing with house money. We’re not even supposed to be here this year.

    Stop shitting in everyone’s cornflakes.

  13. Other than Schenn team leaders just seemed checked out. Buchy not covering on that second goal. Parayko and Faulk, nothing to be said…Kyrou shell-shocked. Positive is the young and fringe guys keep looking great. Next year will be fun

  14. Jets just locked it down and controlled the third. Blues gotta figure that out just like they figured out our PP

  15. 2 frustrating 3rd periods, but this team has been better at home since Monty took over. I can’t wait to be in the building on Thursday, the crowd will be rocking

  16. Winnipeg is doing the little things 2% better than we are. They even gave us multiple bites at the apple on special teams, and we couldn’t capitalize.

I’m anticipating a split in St Louis and this series ending in 5 or 6.

  17. We’ve got to show up for game 2 at home when I’ve got tickets. Don’t want that to be the game the Jets sweep us.

  18. Being down 0-2 hurts our chances at beating winnipeg. Snuggy been a nice add so far but where art thou, Holloway?

  19. Temporary anger has worn off, love this team and respect them for all their efforts. We are all going to be frustrated at the games but I’m still happy we even made the playoffs. Gotta have faith that a positive attitude does payoff. Maybe home energy somehow helps them unlock another gear, maybe Monty inspires them enough to reach new potential, fuck it maybe Joseph returns to the bench and starts playing like a man possessed. I’m just glad I get to feel disappointed this time of year , instead of wishing it was hockey season again. Atleast we have the hope of a Cinderella story. Definitely wish the team would do better but it’s kind of impossible to close the gap between a WC2 and the president trophy winners without a miracle. LGB

  20. Our rookies look good. Bolduc looks like he was built for the playoffs, he’s buzzing laying hits, being greasy. He needs to pick up the offense though.

Snuggy looks like he’s going to be a 40+ guy. I can’t fucking wait for him to grow up a bit.

That said. Puck luck goals on their side, we could have won both games… we picked corners they had weird ones.

We just need to take it one game at a time… and play a full 60

  21. Have they considered dumping and chasing? I mean it didn’t work the first 100 times they did it, but you never know if 101 is the magic number.

  22. Someone smarter than me: How do we transition out of our group of 32-plus-year-old defensemen? I’d be more than happy to move on from Suter, Leddy and Krug, but how do you slide guys in without taking a huge step back? We’ve actually been pretty great on defense under Monty. My best guess: Bump Tucker up to a full-time role, keep Suter an extra year (what difference can there be between 40 and 41?), take another swing at someone in the POJ age range and hope you can ride out Faulk and Fowler until Lindstein/Jiricek are ready? I’d also be curious to see what Corey Schueneman can do full-time, but he’s not a young gun exactly.

(And no, I’m not punting on this series. Wheels are just turning.)

  23. I’m wondering if Tucker wasn’t added as security for Parayko as im pretty sure he is still somewhat injured. He didn’t look like himself tonight

  24. I know some of our bottom 6 are fan favorites, but half our bottom 6 need to probably not be in our line up next season…

  25. Winnipeg getting all the puck luck at home, god damnit. With their record and talent combined with the puck luck they should have buried us in both games. The puck luck will turn and then we’ll get back into the series. Hopeful it’s 2-2 after 4.

  26. At least Oil is already down by two.

Hoping the Edmonton Diddys finally get knocked out by the much more likable Kings this year.

  27. It’s time for Hofer, even if only for one game. Binnington is not playing well.

  28. Some of y’all need to check yourselves. Both games basically one goal games with a young core. We barely slid into the playoffs and are playing without our 3rd best points player. We’ve been making mistakes, for sure, newby mistakes, for sure, but we’ve been competing with THE BEST TEAM in the NHL. Back your team, don’t keep tearing them down.
