Spurgeon back on IR

  1. we now have Gus, Kap, Zucc, Brodin and Spurg all on IR. plus Foligno injured. AND Wallstedt is injured for Iowa

  2. $38,648,000

Just did the math. That’s the cap hit of the team we’re putting on the ice tomorrow.

  3. I guess this is the year of Minnesota teams losing half of their roster to injuries…

Quick someone go bubble-wrap the Wolves

  4. The amazing thing is with all these injuries we are only four points back of the final wild card spot the coyotes currently own

If somehow we sneak into the playoffs and get everyone healthy and in rhythm anything can happen

  5. Per CapFriendly: Jared Spurgeon has an undisclosed injury. The expected duration is unknown.

At the rate he’s going, there is no way he finishes his contract.

  6. At best Spurgeon is getting 61 games this year. He hasn’t done a full season in 5 years. Totals since the ‘19-20 season: 62, 54, 65 and 79. He was close last year at 79.

  7. Pleas don’t start playing Faber 30 minutes per night again. We need to just punt on this season and let everyone rest up while getting some young guys some experience.

  8. I think Spurge has a few years left before whoever is GM needs to seriously reevaluate his place on the team. He’s never been durable and as he gets older, this stuff will happen more and more.

When he’s healthy, he’s a top 20D, but he’s only healthy for about half a season. That’s not worth his cap hit.

  9. So can we finally admit that this season is a bust? Maybe sit on it and lose a few games?

Or course not, the AHL boys have something to prove. We’ll end up winning 10 or our next 12 and ruin a shot a decent draft pick.

  10. This is so sad, supposed to see them Saturday in Columbus. I live in Ohio so it’s the only game I typically go to every year. Guess I can hope they just score a goal at least once lol.
